Yes, he is talking about the fact Lerner has allowed him to spend 80m net, over 4 years.

In light of ongoing and perplexing reports - despite my efforts to bring clarity to the situation earlier today - I would like to reiterate one or two points which, to me, are essential. Every summer, since taking this job in August 2006, I have sat down and discussed the season in general with my chairman, Randy Lerner, attempting also to formulate plans for how we hope to keep improving the club year on year. This summer will be no different. I have a yearly rolling contract and I hope to continue to do a job, the challenges of which I enjoy immensely. He posted that on Villas website just, I think what he means is, he'll go through the contract, but he wants to stay for another season, depends on what Lerner offers him.

Sick of MON Carling Cup Final FA Cup Semi against Chelsea (which will be a different team, that wasn't Aston Villa last week, it was a team with schoolboy mentality) He's earned enough respect at Villa to leave whenever he wants, not when a few boo boys tell him to. |

MON's released a statement on the club site which suggests he doesn't want to leave, and I'm glad. He might have his faults, but I still back him 100% and believe he is the RIGHT man for the job.
I hope the Villa fans going to Bolton tomorrow show some support for him. |

It's really good news that MON wants to stay.
Let's hope the team does the job tommorow. |

I'm disappointed that Heskey starts, but given that Carew's injured, it was always going to happen. I'd rather Delfonso was given a chance though. NRC's injury must have been worse than we thought...he's been out for what seems like forever.
Quietly confident, but I don't think it'll be a big win...I'll go for 2-1.

Friedel, Cuellar, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Ash Young, Delph, Petrov, Downing, Carew, Agbonlahor.
Subs: Luke Young, Sidwell, Milner, Delfouneso, Heskey, Guzan, Beye. Cuellar at right back AGAIN, though Luke didn't do a great job last week. Glad it's Carew and Agbonlahor up front. I hope the fans give MON a good reception. |

Good to see Delph getting a game too but i'd have prefered him playing in the middle with Milner unless he's just desperate for a rest. Luke Youngs hardly played all season and to drop him after just 1 game is a bit harsh IMO with all the medicore games Cuellars had at RB and kept his place.

Half time...I'm happy with the result so far. Hopefully we can get the points.
Sunderland are beating Tottenham 2-0, both goals from Darren Bent, who Redknapp thought was useless! If we can win and Spurs lose, that MIGHT give us another (albeit very small) chance of fighting for fourth place.

Not the prettiest game, nor the most enjoyable to watch, but it's three points and a great recovery after last week.
Next stop...Wembley. Come on Villa!

A great win for us, something we needed greatly. I never believed in the March curse, but now I'm actually wondering if it's true.
![]() I don't see us finishing 4th to be honest. I actually think it's going to be Liverpool. Just check out their fixtures. Apart from Chelsea, they should win every game. Man City and Tottenham have hard games though. It's going to be extremely tight this season. |

I dont think it really matters about 4th, sure we may have a chance, but at the moment its about confidence building and the FA Cup.

I don't want us to finish 4th. We're not ready for the Champions League. 5th would be great though.
