Nice one!

Come on Villa! Good to see NRC back on the bench.

Whilst I feel sorry for Portsmouth fans, one thing I won't miss next season is the sound of that one fan who never stops that bloody bell ringing!

Warnock should've done better there!

Carew is awesome when he wants to be.

How was that NOT a penalty? We really don't have much luck with penalty decisions, do we?

EDIT: Spoke too soon...

I'm getting tired of the refs. We're in 2010 and the technology nowadays should make them redundant. But thanks to FA, we're stuck in the olden times.

Yeah same here. I accidently hit the post button. We missed anyway.

I knew we'd miss, somehow. Calamity James always seems to do well against us.

We need to win this because of we don't I expect big changes in the summer. This mediocre form can't continue.

If the MON leaving rumours are true, there will be.

It's the same story...all the effort and all the chances, but nothing to show for it. I think we'll win, but it won't be as comfortable as it should be.

Well, I did say we'll struggle against Portsmouth and Hull. I'm not confident in this team as I was back in 2009. We seem to be leaking in too many goals making our defence now pretty bad. I mean Dunne is defo our best player who we got for a nice bargin, but even his starting to show signs of making mistakes continously. Still, I blame that to his injury and not being fully fit, I still rate him very highly.

I'm also getting sick of Downing. Apart from that nice spell he had against Burnley and his odd couple of decent assists, his been a liability throughout. He isn't worth 12 million. More like 5 million max. He was even injured up until December and now his complaining that his too tired? We got ripped off.

Agreed. I've never rated Downing, and he's done nothing at Villa to convince me I was wrong. Sadly, he seems to be one of MON's untouchables.

We really need to win this. Because if we finish 8th, I'm sure Lerner won't back MON and then it'll just go downhill from there.

We aren't going to win this. Heskey's just come on.

It's good that we won, but I'm still worried how we'll do in the remaining games. No Villa fan can say they were confident watching that match.

I was pretty confident, we had posession through the whole game, Pompey got tired (ring any bells JT?) it was a matter of time.

I was slightly confident. I suspected Portsmouth would give it everything, but given the amount of chances we had, it should have been far more comfortable than 2-1. Still, a win's a win.

Great to see Delfonso finally get a Prem goal...hopefully the first of many. We need to use him more...he scores goals. Heskey doesn't. Simple as. Gutted NRC didn't get a chance to come on.

And for now, good riddance to the Portsmouth bell ringer. Every time I've watched Villa vs Pompey over the last seven years, it's been unbearable. cause all I can hear is that f**king bell across the 90 minutes. If Pompey want to solve their financial crisis, they should do an auction...whoever bids highest gets to shove that bell...well...y'know where. I'm sure there'd be a few bids!

Look how many crosses we took and compare it to how many goals scored. We should have been way infront against a relegation team who ain't even playing their best squad.

Still, we won and that's all what counts. But it'll be interesting to see how we will fair up against Man City.

Which is why it was only a matter of time.
