Awesome stuff! Ashley Young is fantastic. Great debut for Houllier.

Villa vs Burnley in the fourth round of the Carling Cup. Good draw.

That is a good draw. At home soil again.

If we win tommorow, we'll be 5th. Come on Villa!

What the hell was that?? That was an awful goal to concede!

I sense another match where we fail to win after keeping the lead.

Well, I don't know what Houllier says to Heskey to get him firing, but it's working bloody brilliantly!

I just got back from the pub and it went crazy when Heskey scored the late winner. Houllier's magic on Heskey is flipping amazing.

Carlos had an amazing game as well. Defended extremely well with the aerial attacks.

Our first away win.

YESSSS! Nice one, Albrighton!

Still a way to go yet, but I'm loving Houllier already. Heskey was involved in that goal; he's certainly brought out the best of him.

I don't think I've ever been so gutted to see Heskey go off injured!

I thought we played well today. Yeah we lost but that was due to a world class player at Spurs and our star player getting injured. Much better performance than our last visit to WHL that's for sure.

I normally hate goal less draws, but seeing as it's against Chelsea, I'm pleased with it. Awful misses from Ireland and NRC though...

Considering how good Chelsea have generally been this season, and the 7-1 screwing still fresh in my mind, I'm happy with a draw, but I can't help but feel we missed a golden oppurtunity today.

We should have got something from the Stoke game more from the Bolton /Spurs game AND the Chelsea game , see where the dropped points cost us at the end of the season , possibly a place in Europe ?

From what I saw it looked a dull game.

12 points from 10 games with only 3 wins is not exactly the stuff to get excited about.

It was pretty dull. Fair play to you lot, you played well, although I'm still convinced that Nigel Reo-Coker is a moron. I hope the League Cup game is better, hopefully I'll make it there!

Well that was exciting.

Glad to get a point, but apart from the last 10/20 minutes, we never looked like scoring a goal. If Houllier doesn't bring in a remotely adequate striker in January, I will call for his head.

Also, the stewards are idiots. No way should that fan have been removed from the ground...walking back to your seat, heading the ball back into play and accidentally falling over the barrier is not an offence...

As expected a poor game played between 2 poor teams with very little skill, creativity and excitement.
The noses' general play was probably better (or rather, less bad) than ours for 70 minutes but they never threatened to score and Brad had nothing of note to deal with. We looked totally clueless and lacking in ideas until the last 15 minutes or so when GH finally decided not to be so negative. We had probably the 3 best efforts in that time with the chances for Bannan, Clark and Ash.
0-0 was probably the correct score as neither team deserved the win imo. We badly missed Albrighton and we need Gabby back asap.
The jury is still out on GH but the initial signs are far from positive imo. 4 goals in 6 league games plus negative tactics and team selection will lead us to mid-table mediocrity at best imo. If we are playing such negative tactics against very average teams then I hate to think what we will do against the better teams.
