Critical yep and rightly so, a number of other clubs would have sacked their manager for 3 wins from 17 games.

Hopefully yesterday was a turning point and we can follow it up with a win at Wigan on Tuesday.
But I've watched a fair bit of Villa of late, and considering the amount of youngsters he had to play and some difficult games it was always going to be a task and a half to pick up points in some of them.

He's now bought two very good players, Bent will score goals for sure, and some players are back, and the team has done well of late.

The likes of Albrighton, Clark, Bannan, all decent youngsters who will only get better too, long term Villa will be ok.

Anyways I hope you continue to do well, Wigan next up.

I knew you guys were being critical of your manager without giving him chance to sort things out.

Great result today.

Who's OPH by the way?
Houllier's behaviour/comments at Anfield did him no favours. It wasn't what our fans wanted to see or hear, especially given how shit our form had been. Combine that with some generally bad performances, the fact that he was nobody's first choice after MON left, and the fact we'd gone from 6th to 18th in six months, it was understandable we weren't happy with him.

Maybe we did judge him harshly given the circumstances...MON's exit, joining after the transfer window and a hellish amount of injuries weren't ultimately his fault. He's certainly won a lot of fans over with Makoun, Walker and Bent. Plus, the bashing he's (unfairly, in my opinion) getting from Bruce and Holloway over his attempts to sign players is only helping to make Villa fans take his side. Still a LOT to do yet, but the signs are looking good, and I'm giving him a second chance.

OPH is Old Potato Head, it's what Villa fans call Steve Bruce!

Ah I see. Thanks for clearing that up.

Two wins in a row for the first time this season.

At home to Blackburn in the FA Cup on Saturday, for the first time this season I am optimistic.

Six points away from relegation zone, three points away from 7th. Much better.

We could be swapping Davies for Larsson

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...em/9372987.stm

Can't say I'm impressed. Don't rate him at all. If we wanna get rid of Davies, we should just sell him. Larsson adds nothing to our squad.

Can't say I'm thrilled either. Suppose he wouldn't be a bad option to have on the bench...he can't be worse than Sidwell anyway.

Things are really starting to look positive with another victory. We haven't lost a match in the last five games and won four of them.

I hear we could be getting Brad on loan. I don't know much about him other than his good spell at USA, but people seem to rate him highly, so another good signing from Houllier is looking likely.

Another good win for you guys. I knew things would improve under Houllier after he had more options, injuries and squad wise. keep it up.

he seems to have built a team with options all over the park apart from left back which i would imagine would be priority in the summer. good times!

Looks like Ireland's going to Newcastle on loan.

Oh well.

While there's still hope, I will cheer on Notts County.

Nearly four weeks after we lost 1-0 at home to Sunderland, who'd have thought we'd be here on 1 February praising Houllier?

He's done well with the signings. Fingers crossed they can get a result tonight.

Dunne is having an awful game. I hope he is replaced by Cuellar.

Agree. He's been a disaster tonight. On a plus side, Makoun looks very confident.

Why do the out-of-form strikers ALWAYS find their form against us?

I hate Rooney. Absolutely hate him.

Rooney always seems to do good against us.

I'd take the 2-0 defeat now tbh. I can't see how we're gonna get back into this and would rather not get thrashed again.

I think come summer time we need a good clear out. There's still players on the pitch that is holding us back. Thanks alot MON for wasting millions on rubbish.

No changes. Why on earth is Dunne still on the pitch?

3-1 Vidic. Hopes of a comeback lasted four minutes. Nice while it lasted.

I don't think Downing is good enough for the Premier League, nevermind Villa.
