Well, on a positive note, we have at least put in some effort in the first 45 minutes. Not saying a great deal though.

This is a weak Everton team and we're losing. We need a miracle to survive in the league now.

Great goal from Bent! There's hope for us yet.

At £24m, critics said Darren Bent was a waste of money. Who's laughing now?

We're winning. We've come from behind. I can't quite believe it! See, Gerard? Ashley on wing. Gabby up front. IT WORKS!

We have been due a spot of luck and Everton not being given a goal when the ball was over the line and Bent scoring from that was it.

We had a spot of good luck, and now had a spot of bad luck. Very soft penalty there.

Well, it's a point I'd have taken at the start of the game. At least we did put some effort in today, which is more than I could say against Wolves, but the errors are still there.

I'm not really pleased with this result. We really needed 3 points today and we were lucky to play a severly injured Everton side.

We couldn't hold the lead, so that's another 2 points down the drain. At least it's an improvement from losing all 3.

A point away from home isn't awful but we do need wins.

I was expecting to get nothing from Everton so a point is a positive but we could have done with 3 points to get us away from the bottom

We've not been spectacular so far (Gabby's back on the wing, Ash is back up front.) but we're ahead.

Keep it up, Villa.

Linesman robbed us from a second goal. It was onside.

I still think we need to score at least 2 goals because I have no confidence we can hold onto this lead. The defence looks disorganised and nervous.

Yep we all must be.

Today was about the three points and we got them. Something from the West Ham game next Saturday would will also be good.

Great result today. A win AND a clean sheet...not very often we've said that this season.

Five points clear of the relegation zone...and yet we're now only three points away from 9th. A top 10 finish isn't yet out of our grasp...quite unbelieveable.

That's the way it goes this season. Thought you deserved your win today but at the same time dissapointed we couldn't nick a draw. We played decent football without really going into top gear.

I think we'll both be fine this year.

If we can get a winner now, we would actually be 9th. Unbelievable.

It should be 2-1 to us. Bent's first "goal" shouldn't have been disallowed.

Two league wins in a row we haven't seen that for a few months. It's nice to see a bit of distance between ourselves and the bottom three.

It would also be good to finish off the season on a good run.
