The amount of rubbish coming from the media is laughable. They're saying we were turned down by Roberto Martinez for the job and what's worse is the public believe it.
Very true...

He wouldn't even have a meeting to give him the opportunity to turn you down

Don't be silly now.

We have a list of candidates who are being interviewed. He was one of the people who were selected. He knew it was unlikely he would have been chosen for the job so why would he take the risk of upsetting Wigan?

So why did you approach him then?

Not high on the list I accept but ATM its proving tricky for you to get somebody...

David Moyes the next target?

I think Moyes always has been a target. Whether it happens, I doubt it.

We chose him because he was one of the candidates we wanted to interview. That doesn't mean he was our top priority like the media are making out. It was up to him if he wanted to attend, but he decided not to because he knew the chance of him getting the job was little anyway. But funny enough, the media are making out he denied the job and we're running out of options. They have no idea what's going on behind closed doors, so how the hell would they know we haven't already got a better man lined up and we're still going through the list of options just to see if there's anyone more suited?

It's so funny to see them acting like cry babies just because we're silent through the whole thing. They've contradicted themselves so many times that they've decided to now go all anti on us. It's absolutely pathetic.

It has been all over Twitter. Either him or his father. Hate to say it but I hope it isn't Savo. Then again someone has been murdered. Absolute madness.

Awful news about Milosevic's father. Wonder what possessed his grandfather to do something like that?

Do people think some of the better rated managers are being put off the job purely by the lack of any substantial transfer funds or are there other reasons?

The expectation?

O'Neil didn't really achieve much aside from qualifying you for Europe then spending the whole campaign trying to get knocked out of Europe.

A top half finish should be pretty achievable with the squad but as long as no-one has crazy ideas of top 6 they'll be fine.

Moyes quibble is he has no funds at Everton, would Villa now be any different?

...it can't help, villa having a " sell to buy " policy and a chairman that kow tow's to the villa faithful....who must hanker for the days when deadly doug was in charge

four managers in less than twelve months hardly inspires confidence

I can't for the life of me understand why Jol, who has been available since December, was not approached thus allowing Fulham to move swiftly to bag him

I completely agree, however I believe Jol would've gone to Fulham even if we'd approached him too. He was close to becoming their boss last year, but Ajax pulled out at the last minute. I imagine that was a big factor in his decision to go to Fulham.

The latest favourite with the bookies is...Alex McLeish! I can't help but be amused.

That would be shocking if it's true and not in a good way.

Apart from the fact he's manager of your biggest rivals which should rule him out straightaway, he's not even that good a manager. Spent a load at Birmingham and got them relegated twice. Big deal.

I hope these rumours about McLeish are false as he would be a terrible choice.I did read rumours earlier online about Moyes coming to Villa and McLeish going to Everton. Now I hope that is true!

If the board appoint him they're finished. It would be really that bad.
