McLeish has said at the Shay Given press conference that we are only making one more signing. We are in serious trouble if this true!
£40 million for Young & Downing and only £3.5 million spent on Given. If true we are knee deep in that plop belonging to Villa the cow who Lerner is milking. |

It's painfully obvious he's trying to claw loads of money back and wouldn't care where we finished as long as it's in the Premier League. If he dares to attend any Villa matches on a bad run, he's gonna get slaughtered big time. |

I wonder if there's any Arabian billionaires out there willing to buy us?
Seems like Randy's giving up on us.

I can't believe we still haven't got N'Zogbia because our board are too tight to pay up the extra 1m even though we have alot money to spend from selling Young and Downing.
Then there's the fact we've gotta fly over to Hong Kong in the weekend for a pre-season trophy of some sort and we'll be returning at the earliest next friday with another weekend ahead of us. So we'll be at August with only a goalkeeper bought who's normally the cheapest anyway! We just can't depend on the kids to fill in the replacements, that's absolutely insane. It's like the board are making no efforts to win us back after the appointment of McLeish. |

Happy days, but I'm afraid this could be the last one we sign.

Good news about the Nzoigba bid being accepted and hopefully that deal will be sorted in the next few days.It is sad though that this will be our last signing of the summer especially after getting nearly £40m in player sales this summer. It makes you wonder if Lerner already knew that Young was leaving and used that potential money to buy Bent in January!

Stephen Ireland – The Rise, The Fall and The Resurrection. - If people wanna take a look, leave feedback / comment, would be grateful. Wrote this a while back tbh before Ireland came out and spoke about the new season. Will be interesting to see what happens to him.

New season's here at last.
Can't say I'm hugely optimistic about it, but who knows? Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.Come on you Villa!

We were poor. We were barely a threat in the second half. Given was the only good player on the pitch today.
I hope the performance won't be like this throughout the season because otherwise it's going to be very boring as predicted. |

Yep. Always a good sign when the goalie's man of the match |

Given's looking like buy of the season so far, he was marvellous again yesterday. It was the first time we'd kept a clean sheet away in all competitions since April 21st 2010 against Hull.
So certainly that's one thing McLeish has improved on compared to Houllier.I'm quite happy with the point...I'd have taken it before the match. Given that both Jol and McLeish wanted to start their new careers with a win, it was always going to be a tough game. We weren't brilliant, admittedly, but there were some decent moments. Must win against Blackburn next week though...unless there's a mass injury crisis in the next 6 days, there's no excuses. |

2-0 up against Blackburn. Both Gabby and Heskey have scored. McLeish out!

That was a dull day out. We was only good for about 20 mins in the second half and flat at the rest.
I just don't get why the board are trying to piss off the fans as much as possible. We've just sold Luke Young today and we're now looking to sell Makoun. We've also sold Hogg and sent Wiemann on loan. There's also the fact we've sold Downing and Young without spending much of the money we've made from them and also the countless of players we've let go. I know we're trying to reduce the wage bill, but it seems the board are going overboard with it. We're now at the stage where we have a very thin squad containing kids and deadwood. The majority of our first 11 are mainly average and it seems we've lost the supply line for Bent. We won't be finishing top 10 this season if this is what we have to put up with. 15th would be reasonable. There's going to be more empty seats than today if we don't bring in at least 2 players before the window shuts. How is that going to help Villa financially in the long run? Terrible decisions again from the board. It's becoming too predictable. |

Way beyond a joke now. Surely there has to be a replacement for either Luke Young or Makoun coming in within the next 48 hours? Our squad is down to the bare bones as it is.
Sort it out, Randy. |

Big blow losing Makoun, what happened there?
How did Villa fans take the draw at the weekend? I wasn't too impressed with the man in charge tbh. Took a while to make the subs and I didnt like the subs.. |
