Based on most of our recent performances, I think the word "probable" is more fitting.

When Houllier acted like he didn't care, he was villified for it. I hope McLeish gets a similar reaction. Moron.

Well done to Liverpool, though they should be disappointed it was only 2-0.

Was that definitely taken today? If it was...oh dear.

Is that Bent checking in at a airport desk? Is that why it's significant?

Hands up those who still think he was a good choice.........

I genuinely think we will have new owners this time next year, maybe even the summer.

Lerner who owned 96% and had full legal control has bought the last remaining 4%. Letters were sent out 3 weeks ago. It is baffling as to why he would do this, fuelling speculation he is in the process of selling the club.

By buying the last 4% he does not have to inform the 4% shareholders of interest in a takeover, or anyone else until it is done.

Whilst I do not want to get your hopes up, there have been rumours that a group in Qatar want to buy a club in England. They were apparently interested in Everton but didn't want to buy a new stadium which they desperately need.

We have world class training facilities, history, we own our own ground and next to an airport.

It was reported last month QIA approached Venkys offering £4m to each member to sell + giving them back the fee they paid and writing off their debts but they said no. That was reported in the Lanchashire Times, a respected paper in the region.

Somethings going on..there was a report last month on a Villa forum that Lerner had approached the group, could be bullshit, but on Saturday someone else posted a message saying we were being sold to QIA.

What's happened to Randy "best owner in the Premier League" Lerner?

I'm refusing to get my hopes up, but I'd love this to happen. I must admit I'd feel a tad hypocritical given that I've been fairly unimpressed and critical with Man City throwing billions around, but right now I just want to see my poor club out of the doldrum it's in. So fingers crossed hoping it's true.

I still respect Lerner for what he did in the first five years (even appointing Houllier...it didn't work, but I understood why he was appointed), but many of us just can't forgive him for appointing and backing McLeish. Even many non-Villa fans are feeling sorry for us and saying what a poor manager he is, so I think that says it all. While he hasn't been a bad owner (and still isn't...I'd rather him than the chicken farmers at Blackburn), it's clear he doesn't have a clue about running a football club, and that's a big problem.

I'll be glad to see the back of Randy Lerner. He just doesn't understand the English game at all.

Apart from that stupid error from Clark, we're looking the better side so far.

We really can't. And now Alan Hutton's got himself sent off...idiot.

Sloppy defending, but generally we had a go tonight, which is an improvement.

We don't score enough goals and we keep giving away sloppy goals. That's relegation material. Well done McLeish.

That is a coupon buster of a result, I was expecting a comfortable 2 or 3-0 for Chelsea. Mad day when Blackburn beat Man Utd away and Villa do Chelsea at the Bridge.

An unexpected win today a nice way to finish off the year.
