It will be interesting to see how you guys do today. If you set out in a positive way then you can get at Manchester United (ala, like Wigan), but 4-5-1 hoofball will play right into their hands, imo.

Any respect I had for Ashley Young is gone. Cheating bastard.

Awful from Young and the Ref.

But that doesn't excuse the poor display of "football" today by us.

We're currently a Championship midtable outfit (at best) run by a man who clearly has no managerial skills for any level of football.

Randy Lerner, I hope you lose your investment. You clearly deserve it for being a naive waste of space who hasn't got a clue on how to run a Sports "business" sucessfully.

Good evening all. Not very bloody pleased tonight!

And I've gone right off Ashley Young.

Another very poor, but not exactly unexpected, performance.

At the moment we are a Championship standard team, and I think we would struggle against a few of them at the moment.

Luckily, there is no realistic chance of us going down (QPR won't get 5 points as they still have Spuds, Chelsea and Man City in their last 4 and Blackburn wont get 8 points in their last 4 as they have to go to Spuds and Chelsea), but I think that relegation could be a distinct possibility next season unless something changes.

And Ashley Young....you are a CHEAT!

Relegation beckons. Serves you right Randy you ****. I feel nothing because of that stupid yank. Oh well, I'm gonna win a few grand so thanks for that.

It's not looking good at all for us.I look at our remaining fixtures and struggle to see us picking up a point from any of them.We just have to hope the teams below us don't win either otherwise it's Championship football for Villa next season!

Lambert has been made number 1 fav to succeed the ginger one by national papers today.

He would be a perfect fit for our club imo.

But knowing the clueless board they'll hire Steve Bruce next.

At least it looks like McLeish will be getting the boot regardless what happens. About time. Numpties.

Following today's games it does look like Villa are safe. Even if we get defeated against Spurs and Norwich Blackburn won't catch up and QPR are unlikely to get four points from Stoke and Man City.

McLeish a PL win percentage for us of 19.44%. Statistically we have never had a worse manager.

Hopefully our range of managers to target this summer:

Top Tier: AVB
High Tier: Lambert
Mid Tier: Martinez
Low Tier: Poyet
Bottom Tier: Someone better than McLeish

Villa fans might wish their players put in as much of a fight on the pitch as 3 did here:

Looks like we're staying up. A lot of work needs to be done this summer if we wanna stay up in the future.

Villa are safe even if they lose their last game. Blackburn can only finish on 37 points max and though Bolton can reach 38 points they would need an amazing scoreline in their last game to finish above Villa on GD.

We're finally safe.

We need a massive clearout in the summer of both players and manager. I never want a season like this one again...drab football, bad atmosphere, worst Prem points total, worst home form in the Prem era...it's been a total mess from start to finish. Thank God it's over.
