Good evening, all. Great news.

However, small point to be raised here. As a redhead, I object to calling attention to Mr McLeish's hair colour with phrases such as 'ginger idiot'. Idiot he may be, but would you still use his hair as a weapon against him if he was blond? Or his lack of it if he was bald?

I personally find nothing attractive about blond, but I would never bring their hair colour into it if I was angry with them. I'd probably call them a bloody fool or similar but not a bloody blond fool just for the sake of it.

^ Agreed. I hate McLeish just as much as everybody else, but his hair colour shouldn't be used as though it's some kind of bad thing

"Very happy because, after my last match at Villa Park, the team will stay one more year where it has to be. Thank you all for your support both in the good and the bad moments through all these years!"

Carlos Cuellar's message on his Facebook page. Yet again, our idiot of a manager, idiot of a chief executive and idiot of an owner has let a half decent player (who was willing to sign a new deal) leave. Given we're down to the bare bones as it is, and it doesn't look like Randy Pandy will be dipping into his funds any time soon, will we have any players come August?

I'm just wondering the same myself with Cuellar leaving or are we going to see a lot of cheap players coming in the summer to fill out the squad. It could become a regular fight against relegation for Villa.I hope I'm wrong!

Sad to see Carlos go. Sure he was shaky at times but he was still a solid defender. I hope we can shift some of the bad apples in this club.

There's also a chance McLeish could still stay according to his comments at the OS. If that's the case I'm done watching us. I won't be watching us because I won't put myself through that shit again. What's the point? The football under that useless so called manager isn't football. It's anti-football. It's not good mentally watching that crap.

The people running this club are a disgrace if they think he'll turn things around next season. Three times out of four he has been in a relegation battle and failing twice. That's with three different group of players. He won't get any better. Get rid now you idiots.

I've got a feeling that McLeish will stay as Villa manager but I hope I'm wrong.Even if Lerner sacked him what manager would want to be Villa manager with the club in the state it is!

I didn't expect anything different from today McLeish finishes the league season with a win percentage of 18.4%.

Hopefully he will be sacked within the next 24 hours.

24 hours is a long time in football. What's wrong with sacking him across the tannoy after the game?

This season has been an utter embarrassment and I'm dreading next season.

He should have met him straight after the match and fired him immediately.

I have no confidence the board will sack him because they were stupid enough (understatement of the century) to bring him here in the first place. I mean what the hell were they thinking? He was never going to work.

There has to be alot of change this summer. I fully expect the current CEO to be removed away from the football side of things, a DOF appointed so he can make the managerial decision, a quality manager installed, removal of a few bad apples in this squad and to get quality players from abroad.

What a total shit season this has been and we all knew this would happen. I give it 1/10 just for the fact we stayed up. Not good enough.

Hopefully McLeish gets sacked and never manages top-flight teams again. He also has the dubious honor of breaking the Celtic/Rangers 1/2 finish by somehow finishing 3rd a few years back. I bet you he could take Barcelona and drop them to 11th with the same amount of talent.

The fake Twitter account of his though is quite hysterical.

Who would you peeps here want as your next manager? And what targets, in terms of league position, should they be aiming for next season? Europa League qualification?

Preferably Paul Lambert.

We have to be realistic and say top 10 is the best we can hope for at the moment, which is understandable seeing as we're still addressing the wage bill and not spending much net wise.
