Looks very much like it is OGS.

How reliable is Mysteryman?

Well, he was wrong about the Alex McLeish appointment but then again everyone was wrong about that.

He told everyone about Bent 2 days before it even happened, and has been reliable about a lot of other stuff. He has a corporate box. I believe he runs a company that sponsors the club.

Seems well informed then. OSG is a very surprising choice, but I admire Lerner for taking a gamble...if it pays off, all will be forgiven for last season's disaster.

Good luck Ole. Unlike your predecessor, you've got our full support.

As much as it appeared Lerner had been to the Mike Ashley School for Fan Happiness (Year One) this seems a great appointment

The appointment is only as good as the amount of money Lerner will give him for transfers.

Is it that easy at Villa? Lucky you, no waiting lists.

There has not been a demand for season tickets because of McLeish and the past year. People have been protesting by not going.

Oh right. Fans not turning up is probably the best way to let the owner know rather than take the Blackburn route.

He's one of the good guys.

How many ex players would have come from the Fergie stable if he did become manager?

Coincidence?

Fans tried protesting by chanting and waving bannerswhen McLeish was appointed outside Villa Park and it did not work, so the only way to do something was to hit the club financially. You are right, businessmen only care about the finances.

If Ole is to be your new manager, then good luck to you guys, I hope that he does well for you (whatever you class as doing well these days).

I will always love Ole, and so that will never change, so if he goes to you, I will have a small soft spot or you.

I'm not really bothered about the league position as long as we stay in the league.

All I'm interested at the moment is OGS football philosophy. I'm confident he'll provide us with attacking football, make our academy even better and bring in quality signings on the cheap. He also strikes me as a winner so it's good all round.

Really looking forward to this and I can say the same about the vast majority of Villa fans.

I'm really glad to hear that. As a Utd fan I'd like to think he's going somewhere where the fans actually want him. One of the things I love about him is he is completely dedicated to a team and will give you 100%. I remember him getting a red card against Newcastle when he took a player out to prevent a goal. He didn't whine or winge - just did what he had to do and carried on walking. Didn't wait for the red just took one for the team - literally!

Its gonna be an interesting appoitment if OGS gets the job,,,,,,,i think he will get the backing from us cus i think it will be exciting,,,also he seems a good bloke.
I still get the feeling Lerner is doing it all on the cheap though,,,,first choices are Lambert and Martinez but i get a sense Lerner wouldnt want to pay for them

OGS has apparently ruled himself out. Had warmed to the idea of having him as our manager so am quite gutted.

Lambert's always been my first choice though, so if it's to be him, I'll be happy.

Would have liked OGS here. Damn.

I'll still be happy with Lambert or Martinez.

I hope this search for a manager doesn't become embarrassing again,,,,evryone ruling themselves out and we end up with Bruce or Mcarthy

I'm astonished that Simon Grayson seems to be very high in the betting.

I'd cope with the disappointment better if certain other managers where officially ruled out too.

Still no news of a new manager,,,,,,Lerner is doing a good job of selling the club to managers,,,,,probably told them he's selling everyone and there will be no money for new players and the new manager will have to use the under 18's,as Lerner is pocketing the money for himself

The longer this goes on, the more I'm losing hope about us getting a half-decent manager. Since OGS ruled himself out, there's been no hint about who it could be. I hope it means the board are playing their cards close to their chests after the OGS farce and are set to surprise us, but I have this rotten feeling we'll all be disappointed again.
