So all the managers we would have been happy to have are all unavalaible to us,,,,,OGS aid no,,,,,Rodgers might become Liverpool boss and Martinez says he is staying at Wigan.

What the hell is Lerner up to,,,,,,,no news is always bad news where the Villa are concerned,,,,,i can see ending up with Bruce or mcCarthy

They could turn out to be two of the better candidates the way things are going.

Anybody reckon the old Yankee manager Bob Bradley's name might just crop up again?

if we can get him , it will put my mind at rest about the direction the club is heading.
At least Lambert doesnt look like a yes man,,,the kind that Lerner has employed since MON

Lambert's always been my first choice, so I'm very happy with this. Here's hoping he doesn't turn us down too.

I get the feeling that we wouldn't be approaching Norwich if there wasnt any interest from Lambert!

I hope so as it won't look good if we get turned down by OGS and then Lambert!

Of course you can.
He did the same when Norwich nicked him from Colchester - and Norwich fought hard not to pay any compo.

They eventually paid "some" after it almost went to Court, but what goes around comes around - I'm glad Norwich now know the feeling of being bullied by a bigger club.

Serves them right.

i'm not really sure how management contracts work,,,,,,i presume if Lamber resigns then we dont need to pay compensation,,,,,i can only assume that is why Norwich have rejected his resignation

Yeah that what the BBC website says as they confirm that if Norwich did accept Lambert resignation then they would get no compensation from us.So by refusing his resignation it forces us to pay compensation for Lambert!

Baring in mind you have Bent and a couple of other young strikers would you be really keen on signing Holt which I guess would happen or rather money was spent elsewhere in the team.

He could start with trying to get a shift out of Agbonlahor instead or see if he can run as fast with a ball and actually do something with it for a change.

He has a one year rolling contract and of course you can. Managers resign all the time throughout the year.

I'd get rid of Agbonlahor.

Anyway, I'm delighted with Lambert.

Me too definitely .

But I'm expecting a sudden unexpected vein of form from him like as though he kinda couldn't be bothered before.

And then he will drop off around Christmas time and put in constant crap shifts for the rest of the season.

He is a poor finisher and too stupid.

I agree totally. I feel Villa have kept him on for the last two seasons purely on the grounds that he's a home grown player and from the area. There is no real interest from any other club to sign him, and there never has been. For someone touted as a good player that's pretty bad.

If Lambert gets the job, I really expect him to give him the axe. He's no sentimentalist from all accounts.

Taking Norwich City from League 1 to the Premier League in 2 years is a great achievement. He was managed by the great Hitzfield. He has potential that's for sure. He will do well.
