I know that I am a bit late, but I would just like to wish you all the very best with your new manager.

Terrific appointment. No doubt at all that Lambert WILL be a great manager,
Be interesting to see who he brings in because he must have looked at your team last season and thought you were well short in every area apart from maybe GK.

I wonder who Lambert first signing as Villa manager will be.Some rumours on Villa forums that Whittingham could be coming back.I wouldn't mind him back but I can't see Cardiff selling him!

After watching the Sweden game I'd like to see Olof back.

So there are rumours that Lambert has transfer listed Alan Hutton and James Collins!

Former Villa striker Savo Milosovic has suffered an unfortunate bereavement when his grandfather shot his dad in the chest with a rifle earlier this month.

Ex-Aston Villa striker Savo Milosevic's father shot dead by granda

It was the second shot that killed him. The first went thirty foot over the victim's head.

Matthew Lowton has signed from Sheffield United. He is highly rated by Sheffield United and a right back, which means bye Hutton.

I'm enjoying how unpredictable Lambert is in the transfer market. Keep it up!

If it helps (and it probably doesn't), Matthew Lowton stood out both times I saw him play in person (against Stevenage), and he deserves his chance at the top level.

I know next to nothing of our three new signings (Holman, el Ahmadi, Lowton) so I can't comment on how good they are, but it's pleasing to see us signing players so early in the window. Very excited to see who else will come in and how well they'll all do.

Feeling a lot more positive about Villa this season.

Not completely related to Villa but Randy Lerner is apparently selling the Cleveland Browns.

http://www.tribtoday.com/page/blogs....statement.html

Note that the possible new owner is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, which is Cleveland's division rival ... so Lerner doesn't just inexplicably give the keys to someone from a rival organization with Aston Villa and McLeish!

New season beginning soon. I'm racking my brain trying to remember what happened last season, but I can't remember. It's like I've wiped it from my memory for some reason!

Not sure what to predict for today. West Ham won't be an easy game to start with...think it'll be a draw.

Our squad looks poor.

We have no proven PL defenders in the starting lineup and the players on the bench don't fill me with hope.

I still have way much more faith in Lambert than I did with the last failure but our squad isn't good enough for top 10. No way. Poor again from Saint Randy.

Bit dissappointing from villa so far, it's like we have just picked up from where we left off last season going nowhere.

We certainly look light years ahead in passing the ball compared to last season. But yeah everything else is poor.

Just as I figured. The squad isn't good enough. Shaky defence and not enough quality in delivery. The subs made zero impact.

We need at least 4 players. A LB, CB, Winger and Striker (incase anything happens to Bent God forbid)

I like what Lambert is trying to do though. At least we have something to look forward to this time.

First game of the season away and a 1-0 loss,, a tad disappointing but its only the first game. As always the squad isnt anywhere near good enough or big enough.

i hope Lambert brings a few more face in or it could be a struggle,,,,,but anything is better than having Mcleish, so its already an improvement

Saw your game today, Villa won't go down, they just need more upfront, I think they should of gone 4-4-2 because in the first half West Ham couldn't handle you, 1 or 2 more bodies and you should be alright, like the look of Vlaar, El Ahmadi, and Lowton and West Ham I don't think really deserved their win.

We need more investment. A net spend of £10m with the state of our squad simply isn't good enough. N'Zogbia is hopeless again. We need a new winger and a striker.

Adam Johnson appears to be going to Sunderland, why the hell are we not bidding?

Whats going on,,,,,has Lerner and Lambert forgot the transfer window is open,,,,,,,,its like we're standing still and all other clubs are running past us.
Its getting worrying, unless Lambert has got a masterplan it will be another relegation fight this season
