No idea. Guessing he's a target man though.

Btw it's good we're adding youngsters in our squad but we need proven quality or we'll most likely face the drop.

Looks like we are signing Championship and league 1 players,,,,Lerner obviously looking to the future when we are playing in those divisons,,,,,,,,,We are a joke not even Dempsey wants to come to us. If we don't sign anyone of any real top quality then i'm afraid we are down

Well it looks like Randy Lerner finally found his wallet, £7m for Christian Benteke (Genk).

Benteke is the most interesting signing of tonight. Westwood is meant to be good too.

At least the summer window has been interesting for once. But will it be good enough? Let's hope so...

KEA, Lowton, Vlaar, Bennett, Bowery, Westwood, Benteke

May take time to work but in Lambert we trust!

Benteke was needed, Westwood isn't too bad.

It could have been better but it could have been worse.

1-0 Clark. We've been really impressive so far.

Oh come off it! You've done nothing except get the all important goal. Newcastle (my team) don't have a plan B and we're sluggish, so today might just be your day.

Even so, us taking the lead at St. James's was impressive in itself!

Happy with a point, a fair result. Ben Arfa's goal was annoyingly brilliant and Brad Guzan made some super saves. Lambert's reign looks like it's finally starting to get going!

Yay a point! We're not bottom of the league anymore.

Looks like Guzan has earnt his spot for the forseeable future.

To be fair you did improve in the second half. Keep up that spirit and you'll be fine.

Could Guzan keep the mighty Shay Given out of the team?

Saw him last season a bit for Villa - could very well do, very agile, just ask the Mackems about Guzan (or YouTube his performance against them)

What a performance. We were the better team for once!

Lowton scored a blinder. Benteke looks fantastic and scored in his debut with us. Both of Lambert's signings ftw. In Lambert we trust!

We would have scored more if Bent wasn't taking the piss. He'll lose his place if he keeps on being lazy. Good.

Was the best home performance from us for a VERY long time! It's great to watch Villa and feel positive again.

Guzan's made the goalkeeping position his own. Will take a lot for Given to get it back now,.

Seems the footballing gods are well and truly against Birmingham clubs today...Blues are losing 5-0 at home to Barnsley!

Looks like Ireland has a broken arm. Think he'd be a big loss...when he came off today, we crumbled like a soggy biscuit.

Do you think you'll turn WBA over next week?

Oh Dear,,,,,at 1-0 up i thought no need to worry now as Lambert will get the lads to see the game out and we might pinch another to win 2-0,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,2nd half and last season's Villa Turned up,,,,,i hope Lambert didnt phone Mcleish and ask him to do the team talk.

Our home form is really important now

Who would have predicted that?

It's not like the Man City team was weak either and we made 6 changes.

In Lambert we trust.

Only we could go from a 4-1 tonking at Southampton to winning 4-2 at Man City in 3 days!

Really good result for you tonight, never expected you to tonk City 4-2.

Maybe this is a turning point for you.

Well done.
