Excellent composure. Benteke is God. Wiemann is rising up too. All in all a fantastic result. Onwards and upwards!

Wow.....that is a quality away win.....The kids seem to be really finding form and working hard for each other.....this is exactly what i hoped for........yes they will make mistakes but they look like they are becoming a unit.
We still might need to add to the sqaud in Jan though.
(they have suprised me with how well they are coping at the moment)

I still can't believe we're unbeaten in 6 games (if you include the cup game) with back to back away wins against two teams who were in very good form. What's more impressive is our team has an average age of 23.

Lambert is an magnificent manager.

What a win especially as I was expecting the worst at Anfield. We are improving but I'm still nervous about how close we still are to the bottom even with teams between us and the bottom three. We have got two big games coming up against Chelsea and Spurs as we need to get something from them otherwise we could get dragged down again if results go against us!

Just found this thread!

Good semi final draw for the Villa. You would hope we have enough quality to see off Bradford over 180 minutes.

PL is slowly starting to turn us around. We were never going to be a quick fix and what we need is stability (especially as we have had four managers and two caretaker managers since Aug 2010).

I've been impressed with Clark and Baker since Vlaar got injured. Vlaar and Dunne (when finally fit) are going to struggle to regain their shirts.

Ashley Westwood has played well since breaking through, him and Matty Lowton look like right bargains from the lower leagues.

Not much to say about Benteke apart from "wow!". And to think some fans compared him to Heskey after his first couple of games. Him and Weimann have looked to form a great partnership last couple of games.

Not very optimistic about Sundays game though. Chelsea didn't seem to have any affects of jet lag last night and more importantly Phil "I love the Sky 4" Dowd is the ref

However I didn't expect more than a point out of Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham so anything out of the next two games is a bonus

You never know...We may win 3-4

At least it's a clear indication that we need to spend this Jan. We're still lacking quality in certain areas.

Make that 4-5.

I knew Lampard would score. He ALWAYS scores against us.

What a surprise with Villa losing. We need to actually start keeping our good players then selling them off.

I don't care how good the opposition is. Losing 6-0 is unacceptable beyond words.

I cheered sarcastically when Chelsea's 7th went in. Might as well get some amusement out of this result.

Worst performance ever? I mean they should be 12-0 up at least.

Let's make no mistake we're in the relegation dog fight until the very end. Morale will be shot to pieces.

Certainly got to be up there with the worst. As you say, it could easily have been 12/13 for Chelsea. Lambert should cancel their Christmas for this...regardless of Chelsea's stature, this is an inexcusable display.

Guzan stops it from being 8-0. He's the only one who can hold his head up today.

EDIT: It's 8-0 now.

Villa should refund the away fans travelling.

The players should be fined a week's wages and use it to refund them. They do not deserve paying for such an appalling effort.

LFC fan here, I come in peace

I live within walking distance from Carrow Road, so heard a lot of outrage when Lambert left the Canaries & joined Villa. Despite beating LFC last weekend, what are Villa fans overall opinion of Lambert & do you think that he will last the season ?.

We have a mentally weak team that's for sure. I'm interested to hear what Lambert has to say about that shambles. No excuses for him either. From top to bottom that was pathetic.

Just noticed this post.

I still have faith in Lambert and yes he will last the season. The vast majority of our fans are supportive of him.

Unless he resigns, Lambert will be here for a while yet. We've fell apart over the last two years and most Villa fans expected this season would be a tough one, but the majority of us backed Lambert's appointment and are happy to give him time.

There's already signs of improvement even if the results have been a little disappointing at times. His signings have been generally impressive...Lowton, Benteke, Westwood, Vlaar and even the re-signing of Guzan have all been shrewd signings up to this point. We're just hoping that Lerner backs him in January to bring in a few more players of that quality and we should be alright.

Just listened to Lambert on the radio giving his analysis and I never understood a word.

That was the only tactic he got right all day.

Hopefully your youngsters won't be too badly affected confidence wise..

More than anything else its a shocking result for your goal difference which was fairly good compared to the others around you.

Oh dear ,,,that was an abrupt end to our little winning streak.....my main fear is morale after a poor result like that...i wasn't expecting anything from the game but i didnt expect us to lose that badly.
