then in the evening for the whole of Celebdaq, interviewed throughout plus in the background when not... ”

I meant to start a thread about this here after watching it yesterday, but since it was the BB4 finale with all the excitement of that in the forum, it might have seem a bit out of place so I didn't..... so thanks anon for bringing it up.

but anyway this was highly enjoyable....goofy behaviour, funny, with quips such as,
"I went on Loose Women today - I got off with a chance to meet some loose women so I thought, why not? But I didn't realize it was going to be...."
Also eg pulling funny faces on request, doing his hair-waggling trick (although less pronounced with long hair). Even just watching him chilling out on a bed eating grapes was kind of fascinating...
Shades of vintage BB3 Alex I thought.

He thought Fed was the most interesting BB4 hm whether you like him or not because he's opinionated, and grinned with a thumbs-up "Cameron I hope you get the girl of your dreams."

He was asked about himself and said self-deprecatingly "I'm just a hasbeen now" to which Paddy replied "No, I think you've survived". (Paddy also says at the beginning of the show "I like him [Alex] a lot.")
Though the caption they did for him was cheeky but amusing to read.

All in all an enjoyable show that I'm going to keep my taping of as it bears worthwhile repeat viewing. Certainly better than the BB4 finale

Disappointing.
”

I know how you feel anon, I sometimes get out of my pram when people don't have the same opinion as me.

I don't quite understand what part of my post you found petty? I thought it was fair comment. Alex has only been on Radio and TV recently because he was in BB3, something he said he wanted to leave behind him and nearly all ex HM's are " in talks" about future work, which usually doesn't come to much.
I'm not so much anti-Alex or anti-Jon but I do feel the need to pass innocent remarks because of the way these HM's popularity or intelligence has been overstated.

I'm not sure either why your disappointed in my posts. Is it because they appear to be anti-Alex or is it because you think my comments or opinions are wrong?

Well I wish both Kate and Alex well as they both entertained me last year. I still think they would of made a lovely couple though and Alex did mention that he watches RI:SE on one of his radio shows.

Thanks mystic for this.

I didn't get to see it on BBC3 as I didn't realise it was on until you said (thanks again for that).
I watched the internet replay on the Celebdaq site which although reasonable loses in quality expressions etc., so it was good to read this.

Oh no!
The BB4 bunch are clearly so boring that less than 24 hours on it seems fierce battle over the BB3 lot has recommenced.

Though I think there's still a lot of mileage in the battle between the Cam-morons and the Tickle Army....

May I commend Deerd's nice 'apologies/holding hands across the border' thread?

Awww bystander you didn't get a bollocking (is there a crawly smiley?).

It wasn't that post so much I found petty as all of them recently in which you seem to dig at Alex for no apparent reason.
I agree that the work he has gained has been on the back of BB, but that is true for all of them and he would be the first to admit this.

In answer to you, yes they do often say they are 'in talks' about things but with Alex he does not normally say that without it coming to pass, he is quite careful I think.

I would not say that recently Alex's popularity is overstated, generally any posts I have read recently have been fair comment I would say on what Alex is doing or what he has just done, nothing like the opinions immediately post BB3.
Alex himself I would say is quite modest still, he recognises the above and does not 'big himself up' in interviews, quite the opposite, for example the admittance that work is not as forthcoming, that he would be willing to return to former work if necessary and willing to move home for a while - he did not need to say this, just honest as ever.

In conclusion about your posts, it is not that they are anti-Alex or I disagree with your opinions so much as that sometimes they seem unnecessary comment, sometimes petty, sometimes merely inflammatory.

ps. but don't take it personally, just my comment on your recent posts, having known you for a while.

They might start running out of FM's, they're being banned fast and furious over there.

Are you guys going to continue the BB3 fight until BB5? We lurkers were looking for a quiet time to say something non controversial to join in this fun place after the excitement of BB4 ended . All I can see are posts that Alex's LBC slots are bigger than Kate's own radio show on a bigger station or his guest TV appearances are better than her own TV show or his job with NOW is bigger than her job with OK. Worse still someone thinks that being known as "Domestos Man" was a wise career move Instead of being an agent changing decision. Its enough to make anyone "controversial".

There's no FM shortage, the banned return again and again...... perhaps they'll run out of valid user names first?

Soooo sorry you are unimpressed with this after the 'excitement' of BB4 to quote your good self (roflmao, says it all).

The other thing I'd like to add to your points anon, is that Alex has refused to play up to gossip columns for cheap publicity; eg by falsely going along with suggestive associations with an opposite-sex celeb to cynically boost his profile, as Kate has done. Instead he publicly expresses his disdain for that kind of thing eg about Catalina's scheme with him.
I think it's fair to say he has managed to achieve a respectable and high enough media profile - on his own terms. He's still one of the few HMs who are still widely recognized and well remembered in the public consciousness. Admittedly he's still awaiting a break, which granted, may or may not happen. But he's still well placed for opportunities, as far as ex-BB contestants go.

Kate was lucky in that Edith Bowman quit RI:SE when she did and it's reasonable to surmise her appointment was in keeping with the apparent strategy for seeing out its days as a supplement to BB and other reality shows. Kate's blonde flirty ladette-bimbo BB3 image also fits in well with the new tabloid format targetted towards the Heat mag demographic, hence eg pandering to that with the way she often dresses on the show. In that sense she was the better choice as a BB-related female presenter than say Sophie. It clearly isn't presenting talent that got her the job.
This isn't necessarily a criticism as such of Kate, it'd be churlish to begrudge her taking advantage of opportunities coming her way, but I do think she is superficial and lacks depth.

I totally agree with those who say she had a cheek to declare Cameron as not deserving to win on entertainment merit.
In a way this year with the ostensibly nice Cameron winning, the uninspiring finalists, the restraint to avoid being offendingly controversial, the generally false atmosphere, etc... the whole BB4 borefest was partly a legacy of her success in the show last year.

oops pressed the wrong button hang on lol

I agree with your first paragraph, Alex has had the opportunities to attempt to promote himself with certain celebrities (eg. Catalina as you said who, before IACGMOOH was with Alex at a function, called him up later to say that he should go out with her to avoid being labelled gay, then when he refused allegedly leaked it to the press that he had refused and therefore must be).
This is not his style, indeed I am sure the opportunity was there to appear on RI:SE but although this would have been good for his profile Alex is a law unto himself and only accepts the work that he morally feels is right for him regardless of whether it would be good for his exposure or not.

To your second paragraph mystic, I agree that Kate was in the right place at the right time and being the C4 choice for the winner of BB3 then she was ideally placed to take over from Edith. The ladette-bimbo image also fits well with their direction, agree.
However, reluctant as I am to defend Kate, from being totally appalling and unprofessional she seems to have become in the last couple of weeks quite amusing yet still unprofessional and fluffing her lines - confident with it though and at least handling well the increasingly tiresome Ian - although the show would not be the same without him....just tone it down....
I still agree with you that Kate is superficial and lacks depth, is also still unprofessional although that is improving. I agree that we cannot begrudge her for taking advantage of any opportunities that come her way, as any of them.
I guess I won't be watching RI:SE much now anyway post BB, I gained most of my news from there and here!

Not sure about your last paragraph.
I was uneasy about Kate's support of Jon in that she seemed to be toeing the line, I can imagine in the house with Jon, Kate and Jonny would have ostracised him and evicted him at the first opportunity.
However, with the anti-Cam thing I got the impression they were totally Kate's personal views, I think it was Thursday, she became quite upset and animated about the whole subject and even maybe went a bit too far with it. Jonny supported these views and arghhhh - can I say it - I quite admired both of them for coming out with this. On this occasion I am sure they were speaking their minds and not following a line.
How they will react if Cam appears on RI:SE may contradict this though.....

Going back to your first paragraph,
"He's still one of the few HMs who are still widely recognized and well remembered in the public consciousness. Admittedly he's still awaiting a break, which granted, may or may not happen. But he's still well placed for opportunities, as far as ex-BB contestants go."
Maybe my views have now changed somewhat with the aftermath of boring BB4.
If any of this year's nice (well some of them) but sorry lot have even half the credibility and following of Alex, Kate and Jade in a years' time then they will be very lucky.

Ahem, cough, cough, I go out and leave you all to it and what happens? I come back to find that the thread is now all about Alex! How on earth did that happen?

It started off as a comparison of the unworthiness of Kate and Cameron and now it has ended up with a defence of Alex.

Is it because Kate-ophiles find it impossible to deny any criticism of her and the only defence is to deflect attention onto someone else, usually Alex? Or is it that Cameron and Kate are so boring the topic of conversation always shifts onto another housemate within a few posts?

Don't stop carry on, how things have transpired is much more interesting anyhow.

As you were...

I for one have not attacked either Alex or Kate because I thought they were both great entertainment. Shame some people can't live or let live where those two are concerned. To be fair to Kate she had gut's to stick to her opinions on RI:SE and funnily enough Alex shares her opinion and has had the balls to say so as well. In fact most of BB3 HMs have more or less agreed with eachother were Cameron is concerned.

Nah, I think it's just that no-one cares about Cameron, he had his 15 mins of fame last night, Kate and Alex are much more interesting.
