Dvd recorders and camcorders with pc
motty

If i bought a panasonic dvd recorder and hooked it up to my analogue camcorder and transfered the contents to it could i then put it in my pc and use the movie to do some editing and turn out to a dvdr.

I have a matshita dvd ram drive with -r and rw burning.
Would i have to change the format of the movie for my video editing suite to recognise it.I know its alot of fidiling around
but i would like to get into video editing as a hobby.

The best place to start for information is DVDR Help which has lots of guides and information.

DVD recorders will record in MPEG2 video stored in VOB files, so as long as your editor can handle MPEG2 you should be OK.
