Round 2: Simon V Emma
JimmyJoe
23-04-2008
Quote:
“TELLY judge Simon Cowell is set to come face-to-face again with a girl he savaged in the last X Factor series.

Emma Chawner, 18, sobbed after an attack on both her singing and her home-made dress.

Cowell’s comments sparked an outcry about the treatment of young wannabes on reality TV.

But hairdressing student Emma has since taken singing lessons and sailed through auditions for the next series.

She is waiting to see if she has reached the finals to perform in front of Cowell.

Emma, of Ramsbottom, Lancs, said: “I’ve done lots of singing since the show — I’ve been on Radio One with Atomic Kitten.””

Well she no doubt sailed through the auditions again so she could be on tv getting laughed at again, I can't see her singing having improved that much!

You said it d0lphin-that girl is going to be made out to be even more deluded than before just for a few laughs. Cant believe they tried to pass off the idea she had improved and "sailed through"!

Oooh my chances of getting through the first auditions suddenly increased.

Now to get my sewing machine out of hock and do something creative with my curtains!

She should've concentrated on getting her weight down a bit before having singing lessons. She's morbidly obese and it's bad for her health both now and in the future. During the last series it was a shame seeing such a young girl being ridiculed and made fun of due to her size. The producers didn't care whether she could sing or not. They just wanted her on the show to "amuse" the viewing audience.

Also, I thought it was in bad taste putting through people who obviously had learning difficulties or mental problems. It made me feel uncomfortable watching these people being made fun of.

It's obvious they are going to put her through to meet Cowell again just to be ridiculed

That young lady needs to give up now and look in other areas, I feel more bad comments will just put her over the edge

The words 'glutton for punishment' spring to mind
