The posting of spoilers
Futuring
24-04-2008
Can people please (if they know of any spoilers) keep them posted in one thread only? So many times, I see someone post a spoiler in response to someone else's question, and I end up highlighting the spoiler simply in the process of scrolling down the page. Seriously, if most of us want to know what happens, we'll ask, rather than some people feeling the need to bandy about their superior knowledge all over the place.

I concur.

It is absolutely infuriating, and just the presence of a spoiler is irritating as it devalues the whole debate as offering speculation about future events seems pointless.

Last year was an absolute nightmare on here.

Fortunately, repeat offenders got b@nned in the end - although I'm not sure it was specifically for that crime.

Your post is spot on. Please be careful out there, some of us don't want to know anything about future episodes.

I noticed a few people in the show thread last night were dropping hints, for example ..

“I bet Lindi will go. ”

Spoils it for everyone.

Yeah, I know what you mean, it is annoying. Please keep spoilers in the spoiler threads, stop posting them everywhere.

Even without highlighting the spoiler, you can actually guess that it's about someone getting fired. I mean, if you're reading a thread about a candidate and someone posts:

"Oh, I heard that they:

*spoiler here*

But..."

It's really annoying and it's not necessary to post a spoiler in every thread, especially when there are already numerous threads that were specifically made for posting and discussing spoilers.

Good thread.

Any more and there'll be banning orders all around.

Please take into consideration the wishes of others (including DS).

Thanks.

Is that a spoiler? Reads like opinion to me...

Yes, I'm always careful to avoid spoilers and it's fine when there's a thread called "Spoiler..." or "do not open if you don't want to know... blah, blah" - both from very considerate posters but I do still get worried I'll bump into one by accident somewhere.

It won't ruin my life or anything but will definitely (as the name suggests) spoil my enjoyment of the show.

I'm sure I went into another forum on Digital Spy where they had a "Spoilers" sub-forum... couldn't we have one in here?

I will just have to boycott this forum from now on. I just do not understand why people want to know the last four, or two, or winner, and spoil the whole programme. Worse is why do they have to spoil it for the majority of fans. This is my last post on here.

Actually, just re-read your post and that's it exactly, isn't it?
The feeling of superiority. Silly really, considering that anybody could find out the exact same info... it's just that we choose not to.
