Oh my god, McDonalds, im impressed!
I usually have one McDonalds a week, usually because theres nothing in the house to eat/can't be bothered to cook/want to eat unhealthy.
However, today I decided to try a ceaser salad The last person I had known to try this was the subject of ridicule for weeks, but as I was on my own I decided to go for it.And oh my god, it was amazingly nice I had very very very low expecations of it, but it tasted, dare I say, delicious. Maybe the best stand alone salad I've ever had. I just checked the nutrition bit on the website cause im bored/sad and do things like that, and that, with a coke, was under 450 calories. It was really filling too.Maybe I'll go for another soon |

I love the chicken selects in McDonalds. Do they use those in the salad?

Now, I don't eat McDonalds or any other fast food which is personal choice and I don't berrate anyone else for eating them... but seriously how can you think that a salad that is almost 1/4 of your RDA of 2000kcals a day is good???? I'd rather have a quarter pounder with cheese and fries!!

Eh? Surely a 450 calorie salad is better than 450 calories of chips or whatever.

Actually a quarter pounder is around the 500 mark, fries are about 350, and then coke on top of that is an extra 200 |

The 450 cals mostly came from the coke, a salad with dressing is under 250

A grilled chicken ceasar is 210kcals WITHOUT dressing. A regular salad with skinless roast chicken would probably come in at around 120kcal if you made it at home, if that. I'm not criticising you Charley.lover07, feel free to eat what you like but please don't be under the assumption that it's a healthy option!
Im not some kind of health freak anyway! I just like to find out about things

No-one has answered the question yet, why go to McDonalds if you want healthy food in the first place?

A Caesar salad is a very high calorie salad, it is just that it has a fancy name. If someone said to you "Here's a plate of fried bread, cheese and lettuce slathered in oil" you would never remotely think that it was slimming, but call the same thing a Caesar salad and everyone thinks it has somehow become good for you.

I read somewhere that a McDonalds salad contains the ENTIRE recommended daily adult allowance of salt!
Yukkity yuk! Not been in a McDonalds for over five years, and no plans to do so for the rest of my life. |
