Ex-lovers get brotherly boot
Ex-lovers get brotherly boot
Well, the winning streak couldn't go on forever. After producing homegrown winners on "The Bachelor" and "America's Next Top Model," Chicago cringed as two of its own were the first to be evicted from "Big Brother 4." Locals Scott Weintraub, 33, and Amanda Craig, 25, were unpleasantly surprised to find themselves in the house together. None of the contestants had been warned about this season's twist: that they'd be confined with their exes. "It was a very nasty move; I'm not gonna lie," said Amanda, who was recruited for the show after Scott auditioned. They broke off their engagement a year and a half ago. "I think it made for good TV, though." Scott left "Big Brother" at the producers' behest five days into the show--but not until after he'd professed his love for Amanda, thrown around a few plastic chairs and admitted to having a sexually transmitted disease. Amanda's 11 days in the house were almost as eventful. After spending the first part of her stay "just trying to deal" with Scott, she was immediately marked for eviction, and then struck up a romance with boy-band-cute military man David Lane, 21. On Wednesday night's episode, the night-cam showed the two carrying on under the covers. When the moaning began, Internet fans who paid for 24-hour access to the action saw cameras abruptly switch to the front of the house. For more than 15 minutes. Amanda saw the episode after her eviction and was a bit shocked by the editing. "I thought they could have left the porn music out," she said. "A lot of things weren't shown, and others were made to look a little racier than what happened. But you form relationships fast--because there's nothing else to do." Scott, a steakhouse waiter, has not spoken publicly since he was expelled from the house. Amanda, for her part, is just hoping to get her bar manager job back. Does she hope to date David once the show is over? "We'll see," she said. Any plans to talk to Scott? "Um, no," she said, very quietly. |

This is a guy that got kicked off the show and a girl who had sex in their when it was her last night. Imagine the notoriety they would have had if this was the UK house. They go back to work and life goes on. No visions of larging it at the MET bar, going to film premieres, selling their story to the newspapers, doing photoshoots for Hello magazine, getting a job on tv etc It is almost like BB1 where they didn't have any expectations of what was to happen after they got out. |

Originally posted by sympathy Unfortunately here in the US, being recruited for Big Brother instead of applying has been standard procedure the last three series. No more than seven and possibly fewer of the 14 known players (with 13 actually in the game) applied. The "X Factor" gimmick just forced the recruitment process to a new level. It'd be cool to find out exactly how they persuaded the exes to go on the show. That would ring alarm bells in my head if I hadn't applied but they came to me saying I could go on..
The biggest example of this is that neither Alison or her ex Justin applied for the show. Ali thinks another ex of hers applied and they found her that way. The original applicant was rejected but they liked Ali and found her ex Justin to pair for the show. Producers reported 5,000 US applications for this series. What bothers me most is how many suitable applicants were rejected due to trying to mold the cast to fit the preconceived "X Factor" format. |

Also, just to point out. Another Houseguest was expelled from the BB show before it even started for trying to call his girlfriend whilst sequestered (well we dont know what happened for sure) He was a 28 yr old computer programmer and his name was Brandon Showalter.
Jee was his replacement hours before entering the house. |
