depends what you are looking to achieve.

Do you want a dvd player with surround capability or a surround sound amplifier that you can connect all your devices to, so surround is available on all formats?

Some people prefer the "all in 1" slimline system like this

http://www.1staudiovisual.co.uk/cata...8.html?ref=213

These are ok but performance and connections are limited. Best for enhancing dvd viewing but more work is needed if you are going to connect other items.

Others prefer an AV amp/reciever and a taylored speaker package, like these

http://www.richersounds.com/showprod...=SONY-STRDE400

http://www.richersounds.com/showprod...id=KEF-KHT1005

With this you have the total flexibility of being able to connect tv/dvd/ps3/psp etc etc, on seperate inputs so you can have exactly the sound you want, on the device you want. Performance/sound quality is far superior, 1 reason for this is that the subwoofer is "active", which means it is mains powered and generates more oomph so the smaller speakers dont have to work so hard.

The amp is bigger in size but can be set up easily and tweeked to match your speakers and room layout.

I could go on for ages but you should proberbly reply and let us know what you are looking for?

Hope this helps
