We don't know. It may not have been shown by C4, as they seemed to like his little boy from the islands image.

I doubt he did say it though. His time in the BB house was a well acted performance from start to finish. He knew what the public wanted and he gave it to them, even if it wasn't the truth.

Do you remember when he was talking about Tania and started blushing saying "Och, she's like a woman from a magazine", like he'd never met anyone with make-up on? Yeah, right. You've travelled the world with your jet-setting lifestyle and never met a tart before?

I can't find any evidence in the live updates of him discussing earnings; the closest would be when he told Scott that he was in charge of the 'European end' of his employers operations. As for speaking other languages, he touched on it on several occasions, not least when discussing living in Seville. Like it said on the thread yesterday, by and large, the members of this forum are out of touch with the general public, who can rely on BBLB and the nightly highlights shows to be fully informed.

His background wasn't hidden from the public at all. We knew he had studied languages and marketing at University so it wouldn't take much to deduce that he could speak Fench and Spanish as he lived in those countries on placements for a while.

When he talked about his job it was obvious that he was quite well remunerated for it, the figure in the paper may well be slightly exaggerated as they do, but he ain't working for peanuts.

All this info was in the press/magazines from early on in BB4. To put it another way I feel I know more about Cameron than I do about Scott or Ray. What is their work, how much do they earn? Scott gave up his job working for an internet company and Ray works in 'IT' in London and is a gym fanantic.

If C4/BBLB had banged on about Cam's work/earnings/languages/music etc it would have been another reason for negative posts on here, but in no way was it a secret.

On the first night of BB4 some of the housemates were revealing what languages they spoke. Tania was talking a bit of Portuguese. Fed added a bit of Italian. The other housemates added their little bits of linguistic knowledge if they had any. Funnily enough though I don't remember Camoron saying anything about his linguistic expertise. OK Camoron didn't lie, but he deliberately told us nothing and he did that all the way through the show.

We know a lot about Camoron outside the house, but the really telling part about how little we found out about Camoron in the house was when his best buddy Steph answered all the questions about him incorrectly in the last task.

If his background wasn't hidden it was certainly played way way down. Cam was shown as an innocent, unworldly islander with not much money and old-fashioned values and this was how the public saw him. You could tell by the supporting text messages all saying words to that effect.

I knew that he had been to Africa and the States before and about his sharp business acumen mainly from this forum. None of the casual viewers that I spoke to had picked up on any of this. They had assumed from the C4 coverage that he had barely been off the island and would have considered a trip to Edinburgh an adventure.

Graham Norton did not help, going on about Cameron not understanding what planes were etc when he went to Africa.

It's the media/public's perception of 'Orkney folk' you are describing and the presumed life-style of them.

He is fairly innocent in some ways, has old-fashioned values galore and money is definitely not on the top of his list of priorities. The conversation he had with Steph about 'buy one get one free' and his frugal shopping methods were an amusing insight about how he lives. The fact that he doesn't spend any money on himself and hadn't bought any new clothes to go into the house was also an example of how even the so called 'jet-setting' life hadn't afffected him.

Great for him... good luck to him...but in the bigger media picture... it pigeon holes him straight away and narrows his appeal, it's not 1950's cosy Britain anymore....

Ironic that if he'd been in the States and said that he'd probably do well in the current climate...

Remember he's not in the BB house now and doesn't speak directly to "his public" anymore, his words will go through interviews where reporters/editors will put their own spin on it .

The tabloids and Graham Norton will have a field day with him...

With some of his behaviour in the BB house, although most of it wasn't shown on C4, Songs of Praise won't touch him with a barge pole, the thought of the adverse publicity for some of his behaviour especially if the media started to reveal some of his darker moments in the BB house, would put the BBC off big time.

I posted the 2nd week of the show, that he wasn't the 'Inocent lad from Orkney' that you were all assuming him to be.
I posted an article saying who he worked for, his academic background, how many languages he spoke & the countries he'd travelled to!
There was no cover up, all the information has been in the public domain from the start, it's up to you if you choose to ignore it!

I for one wasn't around then.

The main info I got about the housemate was from TV Quick and Heat which I'm sure didn't mention all that.

I posted early on as well, that he was not the "naive, shy, teetotalling islander" that he was portraying on screen and what C4 and BB were insinuating.

Some of us have been saying his performance has been fake for quite a while.

Anyone see any comparison between him and Eric Liddell?
(The scottish guy, 1924 olympics, Chariots of Fire.......) only thing is ....Eric refused to run on a sunday, sunday being the day of God. This would put paid to Cam doing Songs of Praise....then again...that would be probably filmed mid-week...just conning people to think its sunday...sounds about right to me!!!!

His performancew hasn't been fake at all, he's just been himself.
He's not teetotal, he likes wine,cider, champagne& brandy. On 'Christmas Night' he sent the champagne back because it was 'corked' BB supplied a new bottle. He knows about drink, doesn't like the taste of some drinks like beer & doesn't think it clever to get drunk.
But don't let FACTS get in the way of your dislike of him.

He's not being himself, none of his family speak like him, he's spent at least half his adult life away from orkney so would have dropped all of that "och noo" crap years ago.

Fact's what fact's, do you know what the facts are?
He contradicts what he says. One minute he doesn't drink much next his house in orkney is stocked like a boozer.

Yeah i know what drink he likes and he thinks lagers pish, knew that in week 2 when he argued with fed at 4am about what the price of a pint of cider was in a bar.

The thing is on the one hand his conversations are slanted to be this sober occassional drinker, but he lets slip in other conversations things that would contradict this.

Oh and my dislike for him has nothing to do with drink or being a fake, that's derived from his bitching about Jon, fed and lisa, his various verbal threats made behind peoples backs ie strangulation, suffocation, punching peoples faces down their throats, throwing eggs of the back of their heads, which would be deserved he said and having no sympathy or giving no aid for a woman that had fallen and hurt herself because she had been drinking (that one incident alone sealed my loathing for him). All this while he is portrayed as a nice, caring, sober christian.

According to one of today's Sunday papers, SUN? NEWS OF THE WORLD? sorry I can't be bothered looking for the link, a drunked green faced Lisa straddled Cameron & simulated Oral Sex on him.
