As a bible-reading, Church going Christian what would the reaction have been had Cameron said he believed in gay marriage and sex before marriage when the holy gospel, which he keeps by his bedside, preaches to the contrary. Would we not be saying 'he calls himself a devout Christian but doesn't uphold their beliefs.
Apart from that, even if you have Cameron's views, he may apply his beliefs in his lifestyle but he never said that he thought that everyone else should do the same.
