Hello I was hoping someone could help! I recently bought a Bush DivX DVD player and in the manual it's meant to play 'normal' DVD movies, aswell as DVD-R DVD+R (and rewritable ones) aswell as playing DivX movies.

I've just put a Memorex DVD-R 16x disc into the player and it works fine.

But for all my other discs, which are Tesco DVD-R 8x and also DVD+R 8x it says 'no disc'

Do you think this is because the Memorex discs are better? Or has it something to do with 8x and 16x?

Sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm not very good at this sort of thing

Thanks

Ok thanks. They work in anything else that plays DVDs that's why I asked. Found your reply a bit rude...

I assume all your discs are finalised.

If they're not and they were recorded on another recorder they wont play and they are all coasters.

Many recorders are picky about certain brands- so stick with ones that your recorder likes

Don't see how it was rude exactly. Tesco are a supermarket. Ritek discs are good.

Always use brands that you know well, such as Ritek, Panasonic etc, as mentioned above some players can be fussy over certain discs, find one that works well and stick with that which is what i do.
