Please help..

http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/j...ductsku=117676

Thinking of getting the above package, but I can't find a demo model anywhere..

I am realy just interested in the picture quality, brightness/contrast etc.. rather that the sound as that will be routed elsewhere..

How does it compare to the sony/panasonic 30" lcd ones.. also I do need an LCD rather that Plasma/Projection as it will be located beside the window (lots of light) and needs to have a wide viewing angle.

RIng up LG and say that you are interested and want to see one working in your area. Let them do the work to earn their money.

They will only do the minimum - they always do!

ADVICE! ADVICE! From Recent Experience!

If I where you i wouldn't buy from Comet or Currys, as they have a poor customer service. Believe me ive tried! They never answer the phone.

Anyway try Bennetts, they may be a smaller company but they sell a wide range of LCD packages in my local store.

See if there is a Bennetts near you at: http://www.bennettsonline.co.uk/cgi-...tts.storefront

I know there are not many stores, my local store is Farnham the one on its own. (Not the one in Wales) But you can always order online at: http://www.bennettsonline.co.uk

Regards,
Mark Hayter.

LCD does not have a wide viewing angle, blacks on side viewing tend to look washed out and grey.

From what I've seen of the **sony** 30" LCD, it was much better than the rear proj, and plasma displays along side it, I even got them to move the lcd to the front window to see how viewable it was in sunlight.

I know they have their problems, but so do the plasma, and rear proj, as ever there will always be a tradeoff..

I used to deal with early Fujitsu plasmas a couple of years ago and they had excatly the same viewing angle as std CRT, (160 deg IIRC) the LCD;'s ( of the time) did not have such a good figure - I suppose things might have changed now.

As for projection tv -does it have a viewing angle , I've always thought you would need very poor eyesight or a very loooong room or both, to make them acceptable
