I am taking my 2nd Grundig LCD tv model GU26DP back to the dealer for a refund .1st model kept switching out of freeview every 5 mins with the screen going dark for 20 seconds and then coming back .2nd one the trim is coming away from the cabinet and the picture quality is dreadful ,got a bad feeling about Grundig (yes I know there Alba/Beko ) ...proving you only get what you pay for .I'm gonna spend a bit more on a Sharp or Sony.We have a cheapo 26 Finlux (Vestel) and I'm delighted with it and a sharp 19" in my sons bedroom which is superb , but this Grundig up against them is like chalk n cheese .Has anyone had any bad experiences with so called Grundig (alba/beko) tv's or am I just unlucky .

But that's an actual Grundig, not some cheap badged rubbish, Grundig themselves used to make some really good sets.

funny you should mention that, cos i can't find my logik branded LCD / Freeview / DVD combi anywhere.

it works fine as, however the inbuilt freeview is shockingly bad. picture quality is perfect, but the menus and EPG are poor looking to say the least.

The 26" lcd I have is assembled in Czech republic according to the box.Grundig is part of Beko/Alba merger so not Vestel (Beko are Vestels rival in Turkey) I also own a Vestel lcd badged as Finlux and it's superb and blows the crappy Grundig away ..ps on the net you can get the 26" Finlux for £299.

Erm, not any longer.

If you look at Alba's website - www.albaplc.com - you'll see that they have sold their 50% stake in Grundig to Beko, so Beko fully own it. Though Alba do have distribution rights in the UK for a period.
