Tape Stuck !!
Hi all,
Got tv/video combi in my wee girls room. goodmans is the make. Its hardly been used although a few years old. When we press the eject button on the front the tape goes to eject, lifts up, does Not pop out, then goes back in and automatically starts playing, even though play has not been pressed. I don't have the remote OR the Manual, it was handed over by her gran's pal. Babe (film about the pig) is now stuck in the machine. Model of the TV is TVC202TS I hope someone can help? |

A similar thing happened to me a few years back (though it was a DVD and it was not Babe!), to retrieve the disc I had to open the player up, but I don't know how easy this would be on a combi. I would recommend geting a professional to look at it if no one else here has any solution (or call Goodmans direct).

Videos with the recording tab removed (or pre-recorded tapes) automatically start playing when inserted into a VCR.
So, whereas I can't get the tape out of the machine, I can assure you your play button isn't broke

Thanks for the replies, so far
The play, rewind, forward and stop buttons are all fine. Not sure about opening it up... |

Try this:
Fast-forward the tape all the way to the end. The machine should then rewind and attempt to eject the tape automatically. If you're lucky it might 'loosen it up' a bit. |

Glad it's sorted. It can be a real pain when a video starts playing up. I used to tell my kids to make sure they ejected the tape when they'd finished watching it.....so of course they'd leave it in all the time!
