Anyone think their big brother's voice is kinda wimpy?

He sounds too nice to me!

I like our stern big brother voice it's almost like you've done something wrong when our big brother speaks!

The voice is automated. The stoodents dont take great pride in calling people to the DR and playing BB over there. It is seens as a choir.

That doesn't surprise me, the first time I heard it I thought that sounds just like the voice-overs in Disney etc.

Do we get to hear the diary room voice? I've not heard one so far.

I think the Diary Room person should play a more active role in the program. Are they asked questions in the Diary Room or do they just bullshit on themselves? I don't think it would be that hard to get them talking, to be honest.

DR really has a big prominence in America - unlike here it's purpose fits in with its name.
HGs are asked to report on their entire day very regularly, usually all at the same time, which is why alot of the show is about them commentating on what has happened.

When a live producer voice makes an announcement, the internet feeds usually switch to FOTH. You will never hear "This is Big Brother" because the current production staff doesn't believe in it. Their style is much more like a director giving instructions to the cast, and the HGs even ask questions and get direct responses in that manner without going to the DR. Many long-time US live feed viewers complain on this point because the HGs start using first names of the producers and they often ask for food, alcohol, and other items directly.

If you haven't noticed already, there is no narration announcer on the highlight shows except for the opening and closing. HGs do basically all of the narration themselves after being coached on what the producers want them to say as segment lead-ins. The only genuine DR elements are HG answers to direct questions, but only the answers are shown.

Outgoing Australian BBB Peter Abbott is without question the best English-speaking BB voice (FYI BBB=Big Big Brother). I would pay good money to hear Peter Abbott's voice used in the US BB--can you imagine in a stern tone, "This is Big Brother. ----- to the diary room."

r15 and flashback are pretty much on the money.

However if the DR wasn't like that kind of enviroment then the houseguests wouldn't be as relaxed as they are in there. People would not get on there soap box as much. It is more like a one on one conversation than a robot talking to them.

I think a lot of them in the house would lose it if they didn't have the person who they are friendly with in the DR to talk to. The atmosphere in the house especially if you are just floating is really horrible.

Personally i think the show flows better than the geordie "Day 8 in the BB house" way of narration.

As Coljj said its is automated (The voice of Bigbrother) However you do hear other staff throughout the day. John is a favourite, Amy, Randy (who sounds verrrrrrrrrrry nice) and last year there was a couple more females. One had a really soft voice that all the guys (well Roddy and Jason) went potty over but the best I ever heard was the morning after the Sheryl Crow concert. All the HGS where sleeping and the Big Brother female actually sang over the speakers.

"Houseguests! ... Its time to wake up for the Daaaaaaaaayyyyyyyhayyyyyyyyyyy!" Rofl It was great and then they blasted Sheryl Crow's CD to wake them up. The only time we've had music in BBUSA (except for the concert the night before that is)
