Maybe, who's asking?

Don't you fancy a Toppy 5810?

You'd want to be holding off on that. Apart from being a tad pricey, it's not exactly reliable when it comes to recording.

Someone in another forum asked me. He has a Wharfedale HDMI PVR which he is not totally happy with.

Like Barry hints... this year...

I wouldn't expect it come out before the Freesat PVR that Humax are busy working on... Although, they might come out at the same time... The hint that the Freesat PVR will be launched a few months after the Freesat launch itself...

Just a thought, but I have a 2TB server in the house for music etc. Why can't a supplier come up with decoder unit with 100Base-T Ethernet to save/load data to the server instead of messing about with an 80Gb disk in the unit, which just makes a noise and runs out of space.

Is the HDMI Freeview rx you are thinking of the same as the one mentioned above i.e updated 9200T?

No, the tell-tale sign is the first sentence: "Humax has told Pocket-lint that it will be launching a new player that will be able to receive Free-to-air HD channels via FreeSat."

This would be referencing the FOXSAT-HD satellite receiver for Freesat, that's just been released/launched: http://www.humaxdigital.com/freesat/default.asp

I'm afraid not. That link is decribing the new Humax "Freesat" PVR not "Freeview". The Freesat PVR has I believe been released in the last week for the launch of Freesat.

Edit:- son_t. Snap!! Odd we should both wake up within 2m of each other .

Lucky you there too... I went to bed at 9pm last night... I can't get the Foxsat from Argos anywhere in Fife!

How did you guess? Actually it's tea first and then coffee with breakfast. I'm just in out today. Out in the garden when the sun shines as it is most of the time today . Just pop in here when a cloud comes over. Sun out again now, must go....

Colin

Edit:- just popped back to correct spelling

Although im interested in freesat, at the moment in some ways it seems a step backwards with the Foxsat box as it seem it does not record.
After using my Hummy with v21 working rather well for me I dont think I could go back to just sticking to a schedule.
I think I will wait untill a Freesat equivalent to the Hummy 9200T becomes available before I make the move over.

Take a look at http://www.freesat.co.uk/index.php?p...ucts&type_id=3
which confirms that there is a Humax Freesat PVR on the way.

There have been a lot of questions about it on the Freesat Forum. The general opinion seems to be July/August availability and yes it will record ITVHD even if it is only accessible from the red button
