A few questions that need answering
Analogue? Digital? Have you done a full rescan for the channels? Simply moving a TV from one area to another is not guaranteed to work. The transmitter you are receiving from at the new location will most probably be using a completely different set of frequencies to your old location. So if you just plug it into the aerial and press button 1 for BBC1 for example it more than likely won't work. The other problems you report may be related to the above. The TV may be blanking out certain options simply because they are invalid if you are not receiving anything. |

You don't have your location filled in, so we've no idea where you might be - it's quite possible you're in one of the many places with no Freeview and poor analogue?.

i think the problem is that its not in an arial its on an internal arial which is why it cant get a signal i think , but that doesnt explain why some of the menu options are blocked

) then we could have told you straight away what the problem is. And more importantly the solutionGet rid of the indoor aerial Indoor aerials and Digital TV are not the best of mates really. You have to be in a good signal area with a pretty clear unobstructed view of the transmitter. If the room is in the basement and on the wrong side of the house from the transmitter then forget it. The more walls and floors the signal has to travel through the weaker it becomes. And as digital already has a power disadvantage compared to analogue anything that wakens the signal further is bad news. And as I posted originally the reason the various options may be greyed out is that they are only valid if you actually manage to receive anything. And it is looking increasingly likely that the only way you will do that with any degree of success is to hook your TV into a roof aerial like the other rooms probably are. |
