They are "rebranded" alcopops, not ciders. How can they be called "cider" when their principle ingredient is water?

That is because that is pretty much precisely what it is.... Flavoured water.
However if the Lib-Dems have their way it would be very unlikely either Rekorderlig or Magners would be allowed to call their products "cider"...
