What did Alex contribute?

Jenny, Claire and Kevin all decided to make a scapegoat of Sara and blame her for the failure for not contributing, but what exactly did Alex contribute that Sara did not, other than pulling funny faces in the car with Kevin at the end when it was all falling apart? Or did the girl (and Kevin) just want to keep Alex because he is "well fit"?

Alex is the king of passing the buck. It was ironic he seemed to be about to weight in against Sara before Raef stepped in because he has contributed very little of any note this series, even when he was project manager.

He's also very good at whinging, making bizarre facial expressions and doing weasel impressions!

To be fair the show is heavily edited.

I was just about to start a thread about this

Week after week Alex moans and does little (eg last week's reaction to the cinema rejection) yet he seems to remain in favour with the Project Manager. He was a weak manager and constantly hides behind others. Scared to take responsibility and vocally accusing of others ... he is not a pleasant character at all.

suddenly Alex is not 'all that' - his personality makes him ugly unfortunately

Alex is so over-rated. And I'm fed up of people discussing his looks. This is a job interview, not a beauty contest.

I don't think they are discussing his looks any more

I cant believe SAS picked up on Saras negativity when you have Alex moaning and groaning every show !

I can't remember any idea that Alex came up with, at least Sara came up with a few even if they were knocked back. I hope he goes soon, really don't like him.

Totally agree, Alex did NOTHING in the greetings card task! He's just got in with the big personalities to protect himself, sadly, its working.

Did you even watch the show?

Back at the house they were coming up with things to put in the cards and Alex recited one he made up which i thought was pretty decent considering the subject matter, i think he had a big hand in creating all the words for the cards.

he contributed a poem! sara did the layout work with Kevin, and I thought she had some really good ideas - eid cards etc. you never see them for sale in mainstream shops and given the increasing multicultural public in Britain i thought that was a bloody good idea! better than 'don't bath: shower' day .

Had he kept his big mouth shut like he did for most of the task, he might have got clean away with doing nothing (much) as the public might not even have picked up on it

Yep, I watched the show, and yes Alex 'the poet' did make a brief appearance, however his starring role as prize bully rather over-shadowed that small moment.

He contributed to our ability to MOCK HIM EVEN MORE by
a) exposing the fact he has no butt and wears dreadful pants
b) being a noob and wearing that stupid hat INDOORS at NIGHT.

And they didn't even use that poem, as far as we saw. Plus Siralan and the card company people thought the copy inside the cards was crap, so if Alex were responsible for all of it, he hardly made a valuable contribution, did he?

Much as I hate to defend the muppet, we can't know from the 1 hour show how much each apprentice contributes.

Tim Cambell & Michelle Dewsberry were pretty much invisible early on in their respective series yet won.
The reason is those that quietly & successfully get on with the job make poor telly whilst the loudmouths going about making fools of themselves make good telly (but poor candidates for a 100k job )

If Alex really had done nothing then his fellow candidates would have pulled him up on it.
Sara's problem is she is too easily intimidated out of the important roles.

I think your username sums up Alex's contribution rather nicely
