A peak of 7.4 million (way down on last year) and an average of 6.6 million.
On a channel such as BBC1 or ITV this would be a lukewarm figure, but Channel 4 very rarely attracts audiences greater than 4 million. Even though this year's Big Brother was substantially less popular than previous outings, it has still proved a major success for Channel 4 - just not as big as they may have hoped. |

I think next year they are going to choose the wackiest characters ever, so as to maintain interest.

Would nine million viewers be considered a success? |

Couldn't agree more. CBS seems too scared to turn up the hype on BB because the first season was a bit of a flop. The ratings have improved every year though. The thing about US TV, though, is that there wouldn't be any time slot for them to show anything like BBLB. Live feeds are only available over the internet. Go to http://www.CBS.com/primetime/bigbrother4 to sign up. Hank Thanks for all the info I know something about the limited time for programmes on the US Networks... Interesting to hear the ratings, Charlie Dimmock had a US version of "Ground Force" on BBC America and got 9 million and was said to be a huge success... I think that BB is all about three times (perhaps other posters can add more) Isolation/control and HYPE, it's Barnum's circus coming to town, it's a event... at least to me anyway... I's think the Hill Street Bluies theme is far superior to the BB USA theme tune ![]() Very interesting that us watching on the E4 "live streams" are getting something that isn't available in the States! I peronally think that while it would mean moving it to cable/DB, MTV would be a better home fior BB USA... "Touched by a angel it" is not

Have to say i really like the bitching element in BB USA, that has been all but lacking in the BB4 house, was just left to Cameron to preach privately to BB in a the diary room or Ray to lose his head and then forget about it... We are talking major bitching in the BB USA house Haven't seen this on this scale since BB1 UK

Yea thats what i love about BB USA, all the bitching and back stabbing, thats what makes it a Lot more entertaining than the UK's this year! The fact that they can talk about nominations is great as thats what causes the tension and bitching. I also love the US nomination process where by the HoH uses the keys and each housemate has to pull one out! Brilliant!
The one thing i have not really liked about BB USA is the evictions as there is no crowd and a crowd it what makes it exciting and gives it that fantastic atomosphere! |
