I have heard from him, but trying to glean information is like getting blood from a stone! He was not very forthcoming with what he was up to!

He is indeed, and I'm not sure about the reference either

Hiya Pat,

We are going on the Thursday night now (front row, centre) so if you are about, we will meet up then.

Are you training it back to Aberdeen? Perhaps if your train times are okay, we can meet first?xx

I will happily post a big review. But be prepared for loads of me gushing how wonderful I think Wayne is. Chris had better watch out, I may be making "wayne" glittery t shirts soon!!!!

Although, people would think it was in tribute to my kitten, not Wayne Smith. xx

Just read on Tanith's Joseph site that Wayne will NOT be in CSWY ....... seems he's doing a different "musical" now playing Ricky Nelson .

It's called 'the concert they never gave' it's 99% sure but still unconfirmed, and I can't find any info as yet.....

I've asked him to let me have any as soon as he gets it

Anyone fancy seeing CSWY anyway - I have some tickets

OK - After much digging today.....

Co-creators of such hit shows as Four Steps To Heaven, Elvis That’s The Way It Is and The Roy Orbison Story - Bill Kenwright and Keith Strachan - one again recreate those special days of the golden era of rock and roll with fantastic evocations of seven of pop’s greatest acts: Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney, The Everly Brothers, Del Shannon, Ricky Nelson and The Ventures.... A concert that really would have been too good to be true! ‘Only the Lonely’ - ‘Bye Bye Love’ - ‘Poor Little Fool’ - ‘Swiss Maid’ - ‘Something’s Gotten Hold Of My Heart’ - ‘Wake Up Little Susie’ - and many more! Hit after massive hit will have you singing along and rockin’ in the aisles!

Can't find any venues at the moment except Windsor in September - which of course clashes with Joseph in Wimbledon and Darlington in November.

I think Glasgow will be getting booked soon! So gutted he isn't coming to Edinburgh with CSWY.

So last night I was in Windsor, to see ‘The Concert they never gave’. I think everyone pretty much knows how excited / nervous I was about seeing Wayne again - I’ve had butterflies for a week!! I wonder who was more nervous on Opening night?

The general set up of the show is the format of a concert, and is close to 2 hours 45 including an interval.

Wayne is on second, after Del Shannon. He is wearing a rather dodgy yellow jumper, over the top of a purple shirt, but he looks great. He did about 8 numbers including my favourites, It’s Late and Mary-Lou.

I’d left a message at stage door to let him know I was there, and he pretty much spotted me straightaway. The first number was about leaving him ‘brokenhearted’ and could have written for me lol - for leaving him for someone else – and the 2nd was Never been anyone else but you – which was beautiful – so cue lots of smiles, nods and winks.

I don’t want to spoilt it, but the audience was a bit of a ‘smart arse, and it threw him, it was very funny, but so cute – his little giggle!

So after him, it’s Gene Pitney, and then it’s the interval.

Then it’s the turn of the Everley brothers, during one number Wayne comes on in Black to do some harmonies.

Then on comes Roy Orbison, and does his stint, Wayne did some Harmonies in ‘In Dreams’

Then everyone comes back on for the encore (well everyone but Gene Pitney and Del Shannon cos they’re playing 2 people), including Pretty Woman which Wayne sang to me.

The Lady on my right asked me in the interval if I knew Wayne, I asked why, and he said by the way he was looking at you… aww bless him…

So it does help to have a friendly face in the audience.

I was a bit apprehensive cos I legged it back out through the bar, they were setting up nibbles and drinks for the cast – and we all know how quick he is at getting changed. But like any decent bloke – he kept the lady waiting, but I can’t find fault, cos when he did come down, he greeted me with Alright Treacle (this is possibly my favourite pet name ever – and is even my ring tone!!!) But in his hand was only a white long stemmed rose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What’s that for? For you, Why? Because I've had loads given to me today, and to say thank-you for coming on opening night – OMG BABE – Cue big big cuddle - soppy sod, not that I’m complaining – stunned, I’m supposed to buy him flowers on opening night! Lol – He looks fabulous, very chilled, and we had a chat, about nothing and everything, and I made him laugh, I’ve missed that laugh! (now who’s the soppy one )

Really really looking forward to Saturday, there is a chance I might not see him after, but he’s know that I’m there!! Waiting for the wages to drop, so I can book to go back!!!

For those wanting to see him, but who haven’t booked yet – prime viewing spots are slightly off centre, but to the right this time, as this where he does his harmonies and the encore….

Wayne – I hope I’ve gabbled and gushed suitably for you as requested!!
