Yeah, it will be good to see Ant though.

Haven't heard of 'Can't Smile Without You', but I like the title anyway I assume it's another touring production?
i haven't either.
But looking forward to seeing it!

I might be able to shed some light in my official 'Pharaoh's biggest fan' capacity.....

tradition has been that it was red - When I saw him in Bromley he didn't have a ring at all, now Sarah being the big Pharaoh fan she is can't have this - and I bought a stash of big chunky rings back from the US, cos Marlon kept breaking them, as it's only cheap costume tat and 12 shows a week and quick changes take they're tolls.

So I gave Wayne mine - it might not be the same ring as used in the Press, but I'm claiming it!! And then it got to be routine that I would give him a new ring everytime I saw him, up until Swindon, when Costume said no more....
Quite right I would too

Boo to costume, what harm were you doing?

I think I would have had trouble focussing on anything other than the lycra
Well, I know what I focus on, but I don't want to actually say what because, even though Jenn said I wasn't just looking at his face, I don't know whether he knows quite what she meant I was looking at.

I don't know, but Keiron was really iffy that week I bought a 'special one' it's so cheesy, it was heart shaped, and I wanted him to wear for it me, and then give it back - where's the vomiting smilie - cos he is the King of my heart - really cheesy....

It was hard on Wayne cos it had never been a problem before and all the cast knew about it, and the look of disappointment on my face when he walked on stage was apparant.

He'd argued, but came to no avail, so it's sitting on top of my big 10 x 8 of him as the pharaoh...

Well I will own up and admit that I spent a bit of time admiring his gluteous maximus (sp?) region, as well as of course appreciating his face and Elvis hair

Haha, no comment.

I told him, after the evening performance, how much I love his face and expressions. Then Jenn just said 'You're face wasn't all she was watching.'
Needless to say, I nearly died!

thank-you - tradition also has it that the end of the run pharaoh gives his ring away - I meant to ask him for one early, but forgot, and I don't really want a purple one anyway lol

Thats a shame, but least you know he put up a fight for you
yeah, he's a good boy - Dean said when we out drinking after the saturday show, that Wayne was gutted for me, cos I'd also asked for pictures with him done up but they said to that too... And Ant had said my face dropped

Don't really like the idea of him getting into trouble for me though, it's not that big a deal

So did you start to like Pharoah when Wayne was in the role, or have you always been a fan of Pharoah? (Sorry if this is a silly question - it is obvious that you know a lot about Pharoah so you've probably been a fan for years)

Yup.

I was trying to get a picture, but it did work the first time and I didn't want to do it again with the flash! He was talking to a friend of his.

The second time I tried he was moving and my camera wasn't fast enough.

That's a pity - bring back the old fashioned cameras!!

I'm off to bed (early-nighter me, as have a toddler who still keeps me up during the night)

Maybe you will reach 100 posts tonight

Thanks again for all the pics, I enjoyed them.

No, before Wayne... Marlon Moore was the Pharoah, he'd been in it a while, about 18 months I think... my friend went into the role of Joseph, and took me out with the cast in Richmond so I met everyone... then when I went back to see Graham (who takes an age to get ready!) I was talking to Marlon, who comes out bold as brass after winking his way at me through the show, and goes alright Treacle, and we were talking and he asked where I lived and whther I was going to Oxford, I said I wasn't sure because Graham would have left have left by then, and he said come down anyway, give me a call..

So very long story short, I did, we went out again, introduced me to the new cast, and I was lucky enough they were doing Bath, Cheltenham and places near me... so spent about 12 months going to see them when I could, out a lot, cos Thursday's are drinks nights.

Then Joseph went to the opposite end of the country for a year so I had break, friends went to see him and he said to book Bromley for last year as I'd not seen him for a while, so I did, and it wasn't until a week before the show that it dropped that if Wayne was the Pharaoh - Marlon wasn't.... he always threatened to leave, but didn't actually think he would, and it was time for him to do so...

so Wayne had big shoes to fill, and I told him so, bless him, he took it in his stride, and all I could think of in Bromley was BAD wig! By the time I saw him again, this was rectified, and his interpretation has grown on me Joseph is all about the Pharaoh, and that's brings us up to now... where I've said goodbye to one, and am about to say hello to my new one, and he's worming his way into my affections with promise of blockings, much attention. Ant has also got big shoes to fill and knows it but I have every confidence that he will do so!

I think they'll be different, but this is no bad thing, Elvis was an icon, and had many different sides.

I'm only really a fan of the touring production the West End version does nothing for me

Haha, well, I had a bad experience with old fashioned film camera's over the weekend, too.

Shot on 2 rolls of 36 and got 2 pictures as an outcome. One camera wasn't working properly, for an unknown reason and the other was Tesco fault, because they colour processed a black and white film.
I'm utterly disappointed.

Good night, hope the toddler doesn't keep you up too much.

For a while I really wanted to see West End Version, but there is no way that it could be better than touring production.

Really can't wait to see if Ant lives up to your expectations as Pharoh.

I think Wayne is absolutely fantastic, and is the best pharoh I have seen over the years. x

No offense Jenn, but why would Lee chat you up if you were only 14? Was he not just being really friendly?

Not sure if Blackpool is happening.

That's cool you managed to catch Lee as Pharoh as according to his section on bbc1, he only played it twice!

Good timing!

I'm sure Antony will, the MD must have seen something special in him, cos they had ear marked to take over as soon as he came onboard!

Hehe, that was a funny thing for your Mum to say . So you met Lee before he became a superstar!

Wayne is the only person I've seen play Pharoah, and he will be hard to beat!
