It's all a question of when he had the vasectomy - seem to remember it was fairly recently when Laura started making noises about having a child, so she could have been pregnant before he did that It would be good if it was his, though, and she wouldn't let him near the baby - he doesn't deserve to have him, the way he's behaved.

well I think it's going to be Ians. I think they are trying to make people start thinking is it Ricky - like in last nite's eppisode when Laura received a bunch of flowers and a card off Ricky at the hospital, I think they are trying to fool us into thinking that, and in fact it turns out to be Ian. I heard months ago that it turns out to be Ians, but that was probably rumours back then. But I definately dont think it has anything to do with Paul or Gus!

Apparently when you have the snip you can still be "loaded" for the next week or so. Didn't Ian jump into the sack straight away with Laura after the op, thinking he was firing blanks and letting her think they were trying for a baby. She didn't find out about the snip until weeks later. Then, of course, she got depressed and drunk and had her famous night of debauchery. Ian threw her out when he heard she was pregnant and was certain it wasn't his. Because of his snip he "knew" she had been with someone else. I believe that she didn't have sex with anyone that night. She doesn't actually remember what happened and neither does Gary. He's gone along with it because he's a complete sap.

rudi - I think you have hit the nail on the head so to speak!!! I think you are right in what you are saying and its the only thing really that makes the most sense and is actually believable!!

I think all the scenes where Ricky is placed in the background around characters (in the previous two episodes i know that...) are just trying to make us think its him... but then again anythings possible in "soap world" and especially Albert Square

Ryan Giggs's dad and his side of his family are all black, but Ryan doesn't display any dark features. So I suppose you can't rule our Paul being the father.

From what I recall whilst Garry was out of his skull on the night in question Laura wasn't. She made a comment to him along the lines of "I had to zip you up afterwards". Clearly she recalls who she'd been with so when Ian said it couldn't be his there was only 1 candidate for the father.

Now we know Garry isn't the father then there is only one possible father remaining, Ian. Ian could have had a few stragglers left when he and Laura were "trying" to conceive. When Anthony told him he was firing blanks it was a month after Laura must have conceived so there certainly wouldn't have been any left then.

Yeah its gotta be Ian's now... it can't be anyone elses lol
