Problem with Thomson Black Diva CRT TV - Volume keeps on going up to maximum!
Hi!
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on fixing a prob with my TV. It looks like the Volume + button on the TV set has got stuck. I can't get the volume to go down with the remote, or on the TV set. Last night I took the casing off the TV, but the volume buttons at the front are not accessible (the tube is in the way). Is this something I could fix myself; or is this a sign, that I should chuck it out and buy a nice HD Ready flat screen TV? Thanks in advance for any help! James |

Try taking the batteries out the remote in case the remote is send a signal in error.

Assuming it's not the remote control that's at fault,
With earlier Thomson TV models you could access the front panel by either reaching below the tube to release a couple of plastic clips and the front panel slid out, often it's tricky as the tube is in the way and leaves little room to get in there... also beware that the tube retains a very high voltage charge so you should discharge this before doing anything. On some models you can access these panel retaining clips from underneath the TV, you can sometimes see to little plastic clips that can be (carefully) bent to release the front connector panel. Does this TV have real buttons or just a plastic touch pad (little 'lumps' which act like buttons)- as these types of pads can get stuck.... the cheap cure is to just disconnect the ribbon cable so they don't work. |
