Hmm... in the case of Bui Doi, I actually think "Minna wa ga ko da" works better than "They are all our children too" on the last line - even though they're pretty much the same in meaning. The major issue I have with the Japanese Miss Saigon is that they replaced Kim's final song with some kind of enka style number, and it's completely unnecessary.

Les Mis was pretty woeful (but you can tell why they chose to put Kaho Shimada in the complete cast recording, even if she can't speak English!) - though I'm a bit in love with the version of Yume yaburete / I Dreamed a Dream that I have...

I wonder how the viewing figures are going for I'd Do Anything because it's up against the ever popular duo of Phil and Fern! I know a few people who record Mr and Mrs to watch after IDA but I've never watched it as Phillip Scofield is a bit too smug for me these days... more so when he's on the skating show!

search for female lead and you can have another suitcase in another hall as the kick off song!

To be honest, regardless of what show they do next, they really need to overhaul the overall look and feel of the show. I would love for them to go back to the four judge format and have more constructive criticism, I have definitly noticed a difference between the comments this year compared to ADWD and HDYSAPLM, It's all too safe and not constructive enough. The set of the show really annoys me, I really wish they could have more "set pieces" if you like, more dance numbers, more theatrical performances. Although the stairs help, I think they should have more parts to the "stage" etc. I think they should make the show, in general, more theatrical, it feels too much like other reality shows in look.

I would love to see the BBC do Phantom Of The Opera, it's a popular dramatic production which ALW is obviously very familiar with. You could cast Christine and the phantom which would allow men and women to work against each other ( I know this was the premise with ITV's Grease Is the word, but I think they just didnt have the right attitude for it - if they didnt pair people up so much etc it could really work). I think this would be a lot more interesting than IDA. IDA isnt interesting enough, not enough songs, to specific it feels and the child element doesn't add much.

I'm sure that's what they're building up to, but I have the feeling that will be the last ever. It's the big show that ALW is linked to, and I think anything that would follow would be something of an anti-climax.

I think next year is 'male lead' year, to continue the switch between the two (Maria/Joseph/Nancy). Jesus Christ Superstar is definitely a possibility.

I think it's interesting the two shows that have struggled most in the ratings (GITW/IDA) are two where the film is more well known than the Musical. For that reason, musicals such as High School Musical and maybe Hairspray need to be left well alone.

Oh, how I would love to see them try and cast the MC from Cabaret in a show like this... They could call it "Maybe This Time" Plus Cabaret could have a hugely angsty song as the farewell number!

Otherwise, casting a vote for Jesus Christ Superstar, if only for the "You could still be Jesus" line!

Surely if they did JCS they would look for the role of Judas, as it is a much bigger part than that of Jesus - but does 'You could be Judas' have the right ring to it?

It would take some awfully good singers to play Judas, its a hell of a tough role vocally as is Jesus

MTV's doing a RTV casting in America this summer, I think.

I don't think they should do Miss Saigon. If they were casting Kim and the public made a bad desicion that would be disastarous. A bad Kim could ruin the whole show.

I'd like to see them do JCS. It would just amuse me. "You could be Jesus." Though I suppose they might be casting Judas instead.
