9200T & Phantom Schedule
fatgit
03-05-2008
I'm now unable to record two items at the same time on a Sunday, as I have a phantom scheduled recording from 5:59am to 3:39am but it doesn't appear in the lists.

I've tried deleting all series links & scheduled recordings, but its still there. Any ideas ?

I assume performing a default setting would be the only way to clear this...

I was afraid you would say that

I wonder if I have a similar problem

Set 2 progranmmes to both record at 9pm last night, and left machine on same channel as one of them, but recording did not start "due to a conflict", but nothing else was recorded

I noticed (10 mins late) and was able to record manually

I really am not sure what the Humax is supposed to do any more - sometimes it seems great and other times very annoying.

At least I knew what my old Digifusion could or could not do

if the phantom recording comes up as a clash when trying to schedule then deleting the channel that it wants to record should cancel any scheduled recordings for that channel.
Might be worth trying before doing a default reset.

How can you find out which channel the phantom is set for ?

Don't know if this is related, but I'm finding a peculiar problem with my Humax. Only happens whenever I set a recording for around 9:00pm. The recording or for that matter recordings will begin and end as expected. However, when I get up in the morning, the Humax has somehow turned itself on again during the night!

I've checked the setting for on and off, and neither have anything there, so it's not that. Weird, or what?

It did this to me last night. Two things were set for 20:00, only one recorded. The dud was in the recorded list with a funny icon and pressing select it told me that it had not recorded because of a clash of which there wasn't one but it has had SR prviously set at that time. I've gone back to AP because of daftness on AR and SR. I am now going to put it back to .15. I'm fed up with it.

My humax is still turning itself on in the early hours. Well, not on completely. It's strange. What happens is that the HDD is on and running, as is the cooling fan, but the display just shows the time. So I suppose it's half on.

That's "active standby". Turn off Regular Auto Update to stop this.

After this ‘staying half on’ problem was reported by several people a few months ago I turned ON Regular Auto Update to try and reproduce the problem but I couldn’t, my Hummy still performed correctly.

Presumably some other factor is required as well. I only noticed it after setting some (radio) programmes to weekly repeats.

Thanks a lot for that info. I'll certainly give it a try, and report back if it works for me.

Ah-ha, turning off the Regular Auto Update does seem to have done the trick. But what does RAU actually update?

It checks once a day for new versions of the software that runs the 9200.

Okay, thanks for that. So all I really need to do, is turn on this updater every so often, and let it do its stuff?

No not really, you’ll only need to turn it back on when there is going to be a transmission of a new version of software, and if that happens you’ll read about it here.

Right-ho, thanks for the info. So far, I'm quite pleased with this machine. Would've been nice if Humax could've bothered to include a matching remote, (got the black version), but at least the thing works.

I’ve got a Humax LGB-19DZT TV for the bedroom, the remote is the same style as the 9200 remote, and IS black.

No need to even do that ... when an update is announced you can run an immediate automatic update rather than waiting for the time scheduled automatic update.

If you run an immediate automatic update be warned allow it to complete 5->15 mins... it can appear to be doing nothing BUT you must allow it to complete.

You can indeed, the 9200 is very flexible.

Wish mine was. The remote that fall out of the box was the same silver grey job that comes with the silver grey Humax PVR.
