Strangely there were no bad performances this week IMO, i think the "worse" was jody (although she was still good) and the best was Jessie by a mile!!

Best - Jessie (by a mile!)

Worst - Ashley (closely followed by Rachel)

The worst tonight were Rachel and Niamh. I was amazed that no one on the panel mentioned the fact that both sang badly off key several times nor that Rachel forgot her words on more than one occasion and sang nonsense words. Performance-wise, both were dreadful too.

I'm the opposite - I think they were all pretty dire... and that Jessie's vocal was absolutely painful... unpopular opinion maybe, but I'm really shocked by all the praise by her!

will have to think this one through

Jodie - was quite good, I thought, strange song choice, a good song but very much a man's song
Sarah - again, weird song, she was okay, but am seeing Barry's issue with her limited facial expressions. I think she probably has the best voice but at times her acting made me think she'd forgotten what she was doing
Rachel - I'm really not taken with her, and she did such bizarre things with the tune this week. I don't buy JB's excuse that cracking on notes through emotion is allowable cause I didn't particularly think there was much emotion there, it just showed a lack of control
Samantha - I found it quite a dull performance to watch tbh, though I can recognise that there's some skill in singing and performing a fairly complicated dance routine at the same time. However, I failed to see why they needed to test her on that cause as far as I know, Nancy doesn't do some sort of Latino dancing, and also, there wasn't much of a story for her to tell and yet this "story telling" was supposedly what all the others were supposed to be focussing on. Strange.
Niamh - agree that her dress did nothing for her, far too much fabric, but then I thought her outfit last week was pretty hideous... the colour's quite cheap looking against her skin colour. I'm finding her voice increasingly harsh and abrasive, especially when she hits the "money notes" and she also does a strange breathing in before singing some words. It was okay, but nothing special
Jessie - it was okay, she seemed to at least be trying to tell the story and didn't try and do anything crazy with the tune. But I'm just not seeing this star quality
Ashley - dress again did nothing for her, and I didn't think she did enough with the song. It was a prime song to demonstrate some pizzazz and sparkle and dazzle and she fell a bit flat for me, she didn't seem to have the guts to really go for it.

so in summary... I suppose, reluctantly, I'll have to agree with the judges

but she didn't seem to give the song what it needed imo, it didn't feel like she really wanted the big spender to spend some time with her, it felt kind of like "well you can if you want, but I'm not overly bothered if you do or don't"

Hopefully because of their past performances both girls will go through and ALW can throw another tantrum because two of his faves are in the bottom two.”

Actually even these years down the line a very large part of the audience are still open to manipulation or refuse to belive it exists.

Having said that, I thought Jodie was dire regardless of the song which is a shame given most of her performances to date.

Jodie, Samantha and Ashley were the worst of the night.

I'm just not getting this Rachel-worship at all.....her performance this week was better,( not so cringe-makingly awful as it has been in past weeks), but vocally she was poor, and I just don't think she connects with the audience. And how come everyone else has to tell a (complicated) story, and she is allowed to stand still and belt out a song?.........world class performance?? You're having a laugh!!

I think the songs are weighted and Im sure Rachel or Sam or Jessie would crumble if they had to tackle a song like Sarah had tonight.

The panel are trying very hard to influence us...........Rachel......world class.............yes if your living on Pluto

I think they say......when you hear hoofs you think horses not Zebra's......thats Rachel.......ALW struggled to put her through originally and now she is world class..........yea right

I don't think it's underhand manipulation. I think it's quasi-overhand manipulation.

Cameron Mackintosh knows better than the average spotty fred who would be good in the role and who wouldn't. He also knows better than the average million spotty freds. That's why he's Cameron Mackintosh. He wouldn't be Cameron Mackintosh if he sat by and watched us idiots pick the wrong person for the wrong reason and then wrongly slam his show when it went wrong.

So the deal is that the people he doesn't think will be good in the role eventually get the thinner end of the songs. Because the fact is that just as it is easy to do someone's chances in by giving them a crap song, it is easy artificially to inflate an unsuitable candidate by giving them a superior show-stopper each week.

He would be an idiot to let that happen. And he would be an idiot not to ultimately augment the legitimate judging reservations about certain performers by withdrawing assistance on song choice.

They are not going to come out and say all of this blatantly. But it's obvious and it's perfectly sensible. He would be an idiot if he sat by and let the unsuitable candidates sing the top songs.

Best performance - Sarah: performed brilliantly even though lumbered with a song I hate

2nd Samantha - vocal was a bit off tonight but with all that choreography I'm not surprised. Its not very fair for her to have to do that and not all the others.

3rd Jodie - strong vocal performance but I still feel that she would be the one beating up Bill Sykes rather than his victim...and whoever did her wardrobe this week needs a good kicking

4th Ashley - I'm not usually a fan but she did get a lot of character into her performance this week

5th Jessie - I don't get all the hype about her

6th Niamh - at least she had makeup so she didn't look like someone out of the Adams family this week but I find a hardness in her singing that grates on me.

Worst - Rachel - normally consistent but this week screeching like a banshee

Worst song - everyone. I hate Big Band. But I think Jodie and Sarah got the rawest deals.

Best song - Ashley by far; Big Spender is a lot more dramatic than the others.

Worst Dress - Ashley. What was it??

Best Dress - Jessie - I want it!

Best vocal - no-one, really...

Worst vocal - Ashley, then Sam & Rachel

Best performance - probs Jessie

Worst performance - Ashley

Can't ANY of these girls sing in tune? To my mind and sensory perceptions and listening whilst playing on my laptop, most of them sound flat most of the time!

I'd say:

Worst song - I'd say Rachel had the worst song as you couldn't do anything with it, yet still she managed to screech!!!

Best song - Jessie or Ashley, probably Ashley as it's better known

Worst Dress - Jodie - they seem to be dressing her to make her look bigger as I imagine they have decided to go down the "too unfit/fat" route to discredit her. Thinking about it, Sam's dress was horrible too!

Best Dress - Denise. None of the girls are ever given anything nice to wear!

Best vocal - Sarah

Worst vocal - Rachel

best performance - The producers, with their blatant promotion of their favourites

Worst performance - Jessie, am finding it hard to describe how much I HATED it!

Worst song - Jodie.

Best songs - Samantha, but too many off notes, and she needs to take dancing lessons before she attempts any more choreography; and Sarah, great song badly sung.

Best performance: Jodie and Rachel

Worst performance: Ashley (not the worst voice, but no charisma) and Niamh

Which leaves Jessie: not sure about her, she was my favourite but now I just find her irritating, but can't really say why. Perhaps the fact her Irish accent seems to get stronger every week - not that I've anything against Irish (or any other) accent, but surely in this particular show she should be working on making herself sound more cockneyish not more Irish?

Blimey, its getting so hard, I think they are all doing great! Especially when you think most of them are really young to be giving such mature performances!

I have not enjoyed ANY of Samantha's performances - I just don't hear or see what everyone else is - although, I am a fair person and I thought she was better this week than in previous weeks. I still won't buy a ticket if she gets it though.
So I will say Samantha was my worst this week.

Jodie gave me a little goosebumpy feeling this week, and so did Jessie. They share my vote for best this week.

I have a feeling that Jessie won the contest with that performance last night.

I think ALW will create something for her anyway. He seems to be very inspired by her.
