Interesting theory, but is that all it is? Do you have any proof that this is what they do? Theres been PLENTY of good singers who have got through without a sob story, plenty with funny stories etc. I just feel that everyone's over analysing this waaaay too much.

The X Factor is completely different. There's no chance that an uncommercial act such as a dancing dog might win, which woul d be a disaster for SImon.

The way the X factor works that whoever is voted for the most stands the best chance of selling the most records - obviously.

BGT runs the risk of shining a light and taking a talent to the masses that you can't make a lot of money from quickly. So that's why only singers will win BGT.

To be honest I don't remember any of them, so I guess that kind of shows how good they were. So are you suggesting that they intentionally picked an awful top 12 so that she'd win despite not having a sob story, or that the only reason she won and not someone else with a sob story was because they were all awful?

Also, I can't remember Shayne Ward having a sob story, but I may be wrong about that?

Then why would the judges say how amazing other non singing acts are, like the guy with the football, or the boy who sang but was invited back as a comedian, or the two karate boys? Surely if what you're saying is true then the judges would not praise these acts incase they win and cannot be made money out of?

Because otherwise it wouldn't be a TV show, it would be a 5 minute clip introducing Simons latest victim.

The guy had this big performance but where was the actual singing talent and dancing ability to back it up ? It was like a shell of a star case.

I'll be convinced as long as theres a reason to be. Theres enough real drama in the world and I don't see any point in searching for deeper meaning in things that are not there. I could turn what you said right back to you - If you want to be convinced theres something more going on, then theres nothing I can say that's going to change your mind, because neither of us have any proof, just evidence.

I'm sure this is right. Sometimes you can just tell that they already know something about the act. Last night the ball skills chap started quite slowly, but he wasn't stopped with a 'Is that all you do?'. He was given the time to work up the momentum. The same could have happened with Signature last week, they could have stopped the Michael Jackson dancer when the cleaner came on and asked what they thought they were doing.

Yep, this is true. A lot of the time, you can see Simon reading off a piece of paper. Sometimes it even looks like he's reading a script- I'm not lying!

That's because there is a script. It's a tv show, it has to be entertaining, it has to have a beginning, a middle and an end, it has to have a human interest story every week, it has to have fun parts and sad parts. I bet some people actually think that we see the acts in the order they come on, and that every time the judges are really impressed by an act they really do take a break to talk about it.

It makes me angry that people just accept TV like they are being spoonfed liquidised greens without any thought or analysation of what they are watching. Fair enough some people like to relax in front of the box, but some people must practically slip into a coma.

Thank you, I thought it was just me and the OH, we both thought he was extremely average, disliked him so much he got muted half way through - appeared to have everything, but niceish looks and a big performance seemed to mask a very, very average performer.

I was actually screaming at the TV saying:
'simon, noone cares what you like, let him sing!!!!'

He was actually amazing and even Simon did not have a bad thing to say about him

He can claim to have found a genuine male Pop Idol , Will Young, a global female star, Leona, his pop opera stars, Il Divo and Paul Pott and now he needs one of his boys/girls to exploit the MT music cover market.

If this guy genuinely wants to work in MT, he should stick around long enough to make an impression but avoid winning.

Have you ever seen Miss Saigon? The song he chose to sing isn't supposed to be a 'dance' number. I do think it was an odd choice of song to sing though; a dramatic song from a musical and completely out of context. He was an ok singer, but it would be interesting to hear if he was able to sing something else - he didn't seem to have anything else prepared, which you'd think someone who was interested in a career in musical theatre would. I doubt he's the 'chosen one' though - there's too many other shows looking for the next West End star for him to stand a chance

I bet *SOME* of the people who dislike him would love him if he had just sung instead of acted too.
