Hi everyone,

As others have said, Zoe concentrated on critiquing the Marias' and Josephs' vocal performances, as that's her field of expertise. Similarly, in her column in The Stage she tends to concentrate on the vocal performances, although she does occasionally comment on other aspects of their performances.

Over the last few weeks, she's been most positive about Rachel, and has expressed concerns about Jodie's vocal range (for example, noting that last week's I Have Nothing was transposed downwards, making her worry).
I'm talking with Zoe's agent to see if we can do something online in the run-up to the grand final -- but until then, she'll be in the print edition of The Stage every week.
Hi Scott. Thanks for that, I hope you get the online thing off the ground.

I don't understand why Zoe's worried. Surely she knows the vocal range of Nancy as well as the rest of us. I Have Nothing was transposed into a similar register to Nancys. Having Jodie struggle with a high soprano register would have served no purpose whatsoever. Jodie's range is absolutely fine for Nancy.

This lot are way too nice.

She'd never have let Rachel get away with that screech

All we hear is sensational... fantastic... world class. Who are they trying to convince?? It's like they're watching something else!
Could'nt agree more

If any of you watched the Canadian Maria show, you might have noticed something quite interesting that the Lord said. I think it was in the first show that he joined as a judge. He was praising the panel, Simon Lee, John Barrowman and Elaine Overholt (the vocal coach for the Canadian version), and he said something to Elaine Overholt like, "you are the most fantastic vocal coach. I REALLY wish we could have had you in England, for the tv shows we did there" not the exact same thing he said ... something along those lines.
That's quite interesting. he didn't really seem to rate Zoe as a good vocal coach?
