I have got a Philips tv, Sony surround sound amp and a sony dvd player. All is well apart from when using the Sony remote control it upsets the tv and makes it go to another channel. Which is annoying when watching a dvd as when you want to control the dvd you have to keep switching back to the AV input.

Could any one please tell me any way I can stop my sony equipment from upseting my Philips tv.

I have a Sony multi use remote which came with my amp.

It sometimes changes channels on my Sony TV (!!!!) when I use it to control my Sony CD player. It seems intermittent as if the codes used are very similar and if you point the remote at slightly the wrong angle things get confused.

I now use my old unversal remote from another remote manufacturer which is much better since I can assign all keys to any device and any function.
