What is your local Newsagent like. I've got 2 near me and a Spar store which sell papers.

1 by me are really quite slow at getting papers on to the shelves.

The other 1 is very quick at getting papers onto the shelves, plus the chap who works there is well into 70s and on a walking stick.

I love going into my Spar store, the staff are really friendly.

Do you work for Spar by any chance?

The nearest newsagaent to me is the local petrol station up the road. I never buy newspaper so I don't know how well stocked they are.

I only have one near me and its rotten. The owners stink of BO and its so overpowering when you enter the shop so I avoid it. Can't recall the last time I was in there.

I never go in the newsagent near me. I don't buy newspapers anymore so that's probably why

My local Asda is closer to me than the newsagents, on the rare occasion I do buy a newspaper it's usually from there.

It's not enough to be a newsagent anymore. Most of them are small corner shops. I preferred them when they were pokey little holes selling newspapers, magazines, greeting cards, and crappy toys and you the only food & drink you could buy would be crisps, chocolate/sweets and pop.

I have a Co-Op and a Newsagent at the top of my street - take me all of 10 seconds to walk there! Mind you..... I usually send OH out in the mornings to get the papers!

Mine is a short bus ride away and it's where I get my Oyster card topped up for the week on a Sunday. Two very lovely Asian sisters own the place. After that I do the 5 minutes walk back to Sainsburys to do the weekly shop. Otherwise I get my newspapers where I can.

I used to work in the paper shop near me when my kids were younger. I worked for a lovely Sikh family who treated me as one of their own.

Then they sold it......when they left, I left. I was asked to go and work for one day with the new owners while a wife and newborn baby were being brought down from the London hospital.

The man I worked with was the slimiest, grimiest, smarmiest..I can't think of anymore words right now! But he was NOT a nice man, and as I was 40+ then, I was more than able to take care of myself! But he was just revolting. It was confirmed when they had been in the shop a while, and I found out that kids and adults alike were calling him "the pervert". He is only one of the two owners, the man and wife being really nice people apparently.

But I've never set foot in the place since the day I worked with them, which is at least 5 years ago now.

My local newsagent is terrible. I have successfully avoided it for the past ten years.

I visit mine at least three times a day. I'm really not very organised and always forget the milk, loo rolls, sweeties etc.

I have in fact just started a thread about a charming incident that happened in my local one just 5 mins ago.

I really appreciate the service they offer and they are integral to the community in our small village. The guy who runs it also runs the post office as his late father had done in the village for over 80 years.
