Help With Matsui Mp3 Player
craigy132
04-05-2008
Bought a 1GB Matsui player today and cant seem to set it up on my PC. According to the instruction book its just a case of plug and play if you are on any version of windows except SE. I plugged it in and nothing happened so I installed the driver off the disc and still nothing. Its very annoying. Any help would be great !

I had similar problem with Virgin MP3.

fxed it by going to control panel - device manager - look for portable devices - your mp3 player might be listed with yello box with an exclamation mark in it. Click on your device and choose uninstall. Then reboot (with mp3 still plugged in). When you reboot, dialogue box might offer to find driver software - click cancel. Once this is done your mp3 should appear.

(sgtl mcsn E) that is your mp3 player

the letter E: at the end should be it's drive letter, typically a hard drive is letter C:/ all drives and partiitions after this go in order,
a dvd drive on your computer would be letter D: so the next drive letter available for the mp3 player is E:/

if you are using windows xp,simply right click on your start button, choose explore,on the left side of your screen near the bottom should be your E: drive [your mp3 player] drag and drop songs to this drive letter,[to see which folder to drop them in look for other mp3s on that drive and paste into there] and see how you get on.

That technique seems to work - cheers. Just one more problem I have found, some tracks which I want to put on the mp3 player wont play because they are not mp3 files. Basically they are from original cds which I have put in my itunes library but itunes seems to have converted em to mpeg4 files which the matsui player doesnt support. Is it possible to convert em to mp3 format?

just create some mp3s from your original cds.

Glad it worked for you,i had to do a bit of guesswork as i don't own a matsui or indeed any mp3 player, but i've used other people's before.

Audiograbber is a great bit of free software that I use to rip tracks from CDs. It'll save as MP3 and WAV files. I find it much easier to use than Media Player.
