I agree this is ridiculous to even entertain this. These are a nice bunch of girls who get along. I know for some folk life is unimaginable without bitchiness and accusations but for others, getting alone it is quite normal - It is called friendship!

I've just back-tracked through this thread (yes, I know I should have started at the beginning
). Anyway, just wanted to comment on the above.I personally have not, and would not, make the presumptions that you have suggested based on looks. I really can't imagine that people think a 'tall, darker' girl is less friendly.
Sam and Fran have been my 'favourites' for various reasons, obviously mainly based on the way in which they have come across in the series. Granted, we don't get to see a full picture of what they are all like, but we're all bound to be 'drawn' to some more than others.
I agree that big groups of girls will not always get along, which is probably why there has been a few smaller groups of Nancys who have got on better with each other.

Ashley is actually the girl that is probably liked most in the house. I've spoken to all of the Nancies after the show and everyone of them have said how much they love Ashley.
I don't see Ashley's thumping the air when she gets through as arrogance but sheer relief that the public have saved her after all the bad comments from the panel.

The way I see it with Ashley, she has the choice of either getting in touch with her defiant side and reminding herself minute by minute that she deserves to be in the competition because the public have kept her in it (which might come across as arrogant) or laying down and dying. Seriously, I don't know how she's coped so well. Here she is, competing on television to make her dreams come true and the man who has the power to make or break her has made it absolutely, one hundred per cent clear that she is the very last person in all the world he wants for the part.
In one of the VTs this week, it showed her saying 'I'm doing this for the public' and I was really glad to see her take that position. Abi in Maria said something similar in the semi final, when it was obvious that Andrew and the rest of the panel wanted her out. She gave a really fabulous performance of Maybe This Time, because she'd stopped worrying about the panel and was performing because she loved it and the people at home loved watching her. I hope Ashley can do the same.

Have to say, I'm not an Ashley fan as such but your post is one of the best I've read on any of these threads and has made me re-consider the situation Ashley has found herself in.

I don't particularly like Ashley for this role, but I do think she's talented (perhaps more as an actress than a singer). I feel desperately sorry for her, it must take all her guts and determination to keep going. I think she's handled herself really well.

Ashley was never my favourite - but after her mauling by ALW and her feisty fight back I looked at her quite differently.
For me she still has the weakest voice, and I wasn't blown away by Big Spender (still threw a vote her way)
but she's got Nancy's gutsiness - I think she can probably deliver as an actress and whilst I'm convinced she will exit IDA sooner rather than later, I'm certain there is a place for her in theatreland.If there is a little bit of 'up yours' when she learns that she's lived to fight another day - who can blame her? I'd feel exactly the same - but I think most of it is relief, disbelief and gratitude that the public have thrown her another lifeline.

I personally, don't think it should matter and we don't know these girls at all do we? i wasn't making any arguement or making a definate statement that some of them "are" uncomfortable. i re-read it, and it should have said "perhaps" in there instead of i think so it is my fault i suppose but, i know what i mean in my head...we don't know these girls do we? their personal back grounds, how they were raised, their religions, etc. i am not talking out of my ass. there have been studies done on this kind of stuff putting people of different back grounds, ages in a space together and unfortunatley although i think we should be, some people are not as "ahead" in society as you may think. of course they "seem" to it's television for crissakes. I never meant to have said for definate in my comment either. I was only saying saying it is "possible" that this could happen in a house of women.

I thought that at first - but now I think she is just totally focussed on winning and I also think she is a very private person - which can make you seem stand offish. Ashley - I wouldn't cross - she seems a bit steeley at times with the looks she gives the judges when they criticise her - although she is having the last laugh as she is still in despite thier best efforts!

I won't see the show at the weekend - Another suitcase in another hall moment.
I've just found out that as from Friday I'll be working abroad for at least the next 6 weeks. Will of course record the show, watch the vids and log on to DS when I can. By the time I return it will all be over - and I will be getting withdrawal symptoms.

Thats what I see to..............I think its the fact that the public have disagreed with the panel.....plus some manipulation votes for people unhappy at what they think is selective editing and weighted song choices........
its the only way the public can voice their objections.

Leanne herself said on the live show right after this clip was aired that she also said positive things about all the girls, but the producers chose to show the negative ones. I think all this talk about how we can't judge the Nancys' personalities by short clips should also apply to the Marias.
its amazing how everyones memory of the two other shows are so clear....I cant remember the Marias that much but I like Abi I think she had lovely deep blue eyes and she was funny.........I remember the ADWD better........ but through out all the shows......the manipulation within the shows is very clear.

editing. of course. they just don't show any of their tensions now, which is fine, but not realistic.
i am sure in the Maria house, they all did get along to more of a degree than they showed. they seemed to be lovely girls.
do you remember the whole incident with Simona though? she really went off on them for rehearsing and having fun late into the night and then still defended her actions to Graham. i thought that was quite real.
