Adding to this stereotyping thing about gay people, just look at Cynthia Nixon who plays Miranda in Sex&The City; she is absolutely beautiful and nobody would think she was a lesbian!
Even if any of the girls are it shouldn't matter as at the end of the day it doesn't affect their performances or stand in the way of their talent!

Exactly - we'd still be voting for them regardless!

I don't particularly rate any of them apart from possibly Sam at the moment - regardless of their sexuality. I am a bit disappointed in the show really but can't quite bring myself not to watch it. I think it's a bit of a shame that we can't vote for the Olivers too. That is a more important role really. Anyway, that aside, if it is 'common knowledge' that one them is gay, why doesn't anyone know? And more to the point, does it really matter? I didn't know any of the Marias were - and thought all of the Josephs were so shows what I know!

well 1/10 people are homosexual so statistically one of them will be but in real terms i think it's most unlikely. also, i think it's dead unfair to point the finger towards the one who can't walk in heels or dance. plenty of straight girls aren't perfect at that either! hmph.

I agree there are alot of people with two left feet...but they are not in show business dancing and acting....its nothing to do with someones sexuality, who they find attractive has nothing to do with selling £60.00 seats.

They will be expected to act and dance as well as sing. The critics will not be as kind as us....they will slaughter them......thats not fair putting a young girl up for that.

yeah i realise this casper but my point about the girl being the least ladylike was on the point on stereotyping not on the actual ability and how critics will view it.
i'm not having a go, just re-iterating my point sometimes it's hard to tell on a forum if someone is having a go or not!

no we try not to have a go at posters but some do go over the top.

If she was acceptable the way she is now, they wouldnt be trying to change everything.........it will be to her benifit....if people like it or not......critics would slaughter her as she is just now.........she still has a lot to learn......she has time

that's okay.

just wanted to add, when this thread was started, I don't think there was not any tension, as right from the get go in the Maria house, escpecially by Simona, the woman who should not have been there; but now...

time has passed, fewer people are there, different comments have been thrown around, competition is tighter and they are now commenting on who is Nancy

there must be a little tension in there now.

Personally i thought Jodie and Sarah came accross as the nicest, from the clips we have been shown.

I read a quote from Jessie somewhere where she said that she definitely wants to get married and have kids but at the moment I'm just enjoying being 18".

Not that it's important but I think it's pretty obvious that it's not Jessie who's gay. If any of them are! I don't think she would say she is "boy crazy" if she was openly gay!

I have my favourites Jessie and Sam, but all the girls should be commended on how well they have done. And their sexuality shouldnt detract from this point.

No it shouldnt...it should be about performance, not who is wearing the shortest skirt or the lowest top..or the shortest shorts.............but thats what the BBC has done...so people do comment on it..

It should only be about performance........
