yep so far she has the definate support of the panel but not so much of digital spy people, i just cant understand why?! shes got a brilliant voice and with a little acting work could defiantely steal this compotition. She is the only nancy with the "tingle factor" for me (bar jodie occasionly)

But to be fair how many people are on DS??

It's the public that counts, I seem to remember Lee Mead not being very popular on here but went on to win!! She is Nancy in my eyes and a runaway winner!

Lee was extremely popular on here last year and i certainly never noticed anything like the level of criticism Jessie has been getting (Just have a look at how enormous his appreciation thread is - over 100,000 posts atm)

As for Jessie, she was one of my early favourites and i still think she has the potential to go far in the competition. Whether she is capable of winning remains to be seen. Unfortunately the negative backlash could be hard to recover from.

I blame the panel for being too OTT in their praise on Saturday. If they had given some constructive criticism on how she could improve i don't think we'd be seeing the negativity thats springing up all over the forum.

People get annoyed when they can see faults (however minor) that aren't addressed (Francesca and Rachel are suffering from this too in different ways) and start to champion those who are criticised harshly (Sarah).

Its still early days though and another Killing me Softly may just turn the tables back in her favour *fingers crossed*

This is the third Jessie appreciation thread - don't know what happened to the 1st seems to have died a death. Not knocking Jessie - I like her.

He was a clear top in the polls every week, with only Daniel coming anywhere near and as someone mentioned above his appreciation thread is massive, must be one of the biggest on the whole forum!

While Lee had a large amount of support, he also had plenty of militant detractors. I remember that in the show threads in particular, there were always plenty of people ready with their criticism. There were also nasty threads about aspects of his appearance.

It's natural I suppose, favourites get an exaggerated amount of criticism. There seems to have been a bit of a backlash against Jessie based on how lavishly her performance was praised last Saturday. She was very popular in week two. I agree that her performance last week didn't merit the kind of adulation that Denise heaped upon it, but it was very, very far from being the worst performance of the night, so I find it a bit strange that so many people have her down as the worst Nancy of that week.

However, we've had an exaggeratedly negative response to different Nancys on this forum in different weeks. Before the live shows and in week one, Francesca was coming under a lot of flack, but people seem to have laid off her a bit now. It was Rachel's turn last week when she received outlandish praise from the panel for a performance that many people didn't deserve it. Hopefully for Jessie, they'll have moved onto someone else next week.

Mmm, see I loved her performance last week, I also loved the fact that it was a risk which did pay off, she isn't sticking to the same old same old which would really bug me, ok so the accent isn't perfect but she Irish!!!

What people seem to be forgetting is that she is only 18.....

I wouldn't say Jessie was my favourite Nancy, but I do like her. I think my only issue is that the judges are continuously telling her she's "perfect", and the likes, which means she herself has nothing to imporve on, so her level of preformance is staying the same every week. Same goes for Rachel actually. Whereas the other Nancies are able to take on board their criticism and improve themselves accordingly. I'm not seeing any "progression", or to borrow the Strictly Come Dancing swearword "journey". And hense she's failed to "wow" me.

Though there are those I would rather take the role, I thoroughly enjoy Jessie's perfrormances and would be quite happy for her to win the role of Nancy - which is currently seeming more realistic than my favourites winning(Sarah and Jodie)!

I think there are some people who dislike her because the panel love her so much though. Which is a shame because she genuinely is one of the most talented Nancies in the competition.

Jessie was my favourite in the audition stages (other than Nancy Nancy and Lucy, both of whom got knocked out and would have been far better than Samantha or Tara...but that's another story!) - I think her voice is something really special and unusual and she's so pretty and alive and I think she's fab.

Sadly she hasn't quite lived up to that potential on the show for me. YET. It's a mixture of song choices, dreadful outfits and most of all, her frankly odd movement/choreography. If she could just have a beautiful, quite, emotional song like 'Send in the Clowns' I think a lot of people would see a new side to her.

Is she Nancy? I'm not quite sure. When she does the group numbers, yes absolutely but I've yet to see that in her solo performances. But I'm voting for her every week as I know she can do it!

I'm really hoping shes going to be able to prove all the critics wrong and i even think it was good she got a bit of constructive critisms this week so she can focus improving the parts of her performances that need improve

She also hasnt performed to well in the tasks so far so hopefully she can focus on those and prove she can act!

I don't know if she's Nancy, but there's something extremely endearing about her and slightly quirky.
She's not as knowing and contrived as alot of the Nancys which I like. she is terribly young and I fear too young for the role, but there is a freshness there that will go along way. I like her weird movements and funny choreography, when she performs I am really drawn to her performance.

I still feel she can win the role. She just needs to work a bit on her movement and a couple of decent songs would help.

* token post for my appreciation for Jessie.

-hard to believe she got turned down for drama school though, people get in that don't even have a smidge of her talent. maybe she really can't act?

If she couldn't act at all then she would have been found out at Nancy school for sure!

exactly, which makes me wonder about the caliber at actual drama schools out there. i liked her acting in the one clip i saw with DVO. DVO said she was all over the place, but i liked her and think she could pull it off. the one thing i have trouble with is her posture (even still)

I like Jessie - now that Fran's gone she's my favourite - but tbh, from the little I've seen, I do question her acting ability. Perhaps given more chances to show us what she can do I'll change my mind - or with the training opportunities the programme affords she'll improve.

I hope so - visually and vocally she could be my Nancy.
