"There was a bit of banter after the show up in the green room," Rachel admitted.

"They made it quite public actually. I didn't see it, but I don't think Cameron was too happy about me being out.

" He sent me a big bouquet of flowers — he seems to be a fan!"

I don't know why, but that made me smile! Lol!

Hey all, I've just received some news about Rachel from somebody but they don't want their name typed.

The news I've received is this:

"My brother performed with Rachel Tucker years ago and is a friend - she was offered the chance to perform as Nancy in 3 shows per week while apparently Jodie will only been doin 5 shows instead of 6. I hasn't been confirmed yet whether she has accepted because she is gettin other offers atm.. such as Cabaret and Chicago. I also knew that Jodie was the winner because Rachel was told by Andrew Lloyd Webber that Jodie had been pulling in the majority of the votes for the past 3 weeks since Sarah left .. before that the votes were very balanced between all girls.

It is sooooo frustratin not being able to post because they are all saying Jessie will be doing the other shows along with Jodie but she definitely isn't - that is confirmed "

I personally think this is fabulous news and the person that sent me the news wanted me to let all of you know!
Of course this could all be speculation but it would seem odd for someone out the blue to messge us a spin story.

Rachel was my favourite to win. I was gutted when she was voted out. After she was out I was rooting for Jodie to win as I think she's terrific too, but I still wish it had been Rachel. I like Jessie and Samantha too but don't think they were quite ready for the role yet, imo. They need to mature a bit, I think. But they are certainly extremely talented and I'm sure they'll do so well in other roles and will only improve in time. But for me Rachel would have been a magnificent Nancy!

Ah well, I'm thrilled for Jodie anyway, as she's wonderful and I hope to get to see her in Oliver. But I can't wait to see what Rachel does next. I think she'd be fantastic as Sally Bowles in Cabaret or Velma Kelly in Chicago. Dammit, I think she could play ANY role! I wish her all the very best and hope to get to see her on the stage sometime.

I heard something on Citybeat, one of our local radio stations, earlier that Rachel will be making a guest appearance at a night club in Belfast tomorrow night. I didn't catch the name of the venue but will try to find out and let you know.

Thanks for the positive comments about the blog. Can I suggest that you tell people to visit the blog for exciting news such as this instead of copying the information. Or write some of info and then refer them to the blog for the rest; that way it keeps the discussion going on here but increases the hits on the blog as well. I have no problem with it at all really but we are hoping that Rachel might visit our blog in the near future so the more hits we get the better; we have reason to believe that she may know about the blog by early next week.

Keep checking back because we are hoping for some more breaking news very shortly.

If you're a fan of Rachel I suggest you bookmark her blog or add it to your favourites list.

Keep up the good support guys.

Of course found this forum MUCH too late lol,im soo glad this thread is up for RACHEL.I knew her as an 9 yr old and have a video of her singing a tina turner number, she was OUTSTANDING even then!!
Personally i thot she was head n shoulders above all the othersmand i agree with past comments that Rachel was edited really badly, which was frustrating to watch.
Anyway,i absolutely love her ,i ve lost count of number of times ive watched the performances!!
I thot her weaker 1,s were bcos of poor songs ,ie uve got a friend,n the stevie wonder 1 whuch was so unmemorable i can never remember title!!
If u look at the 1st performanc and the last when she was being herself, they were fantastic
If she doesnt get a leading lady role soon ,well then the worlds gon mad!!
CABARET was the performance of the series and id love to see her do it 4 real.
thanks again Shaunie 4 gettin this thread up.

“Cabaret Posts West End Closing Notices for 21 Jun
Date: 5th June 2008

Following Gone With the Wind and Spamalot (See News, 2 Jun 2008), Cabaret has become the third West End musical to post closing notices in the past week.

Rufus Norris’ award-winning revival of the Kander and Ebb classic opened at the Lyric Theatre on 10 October 2006 (previews from 23 September) and had been booking through to 1 November 2008. It will now close on 21 June 2008, after a run of a year and nine months.

Cabaret turns Weimar Berlin of 1931 into a divine haven of decadence, its morally ambiguous inhabitants determined to keep up appearances as the real world - outside the comfortable sanctuary of the cabaret - prepares for war.

Based on the stories of Christopher Isherwood and the play by John Van Druten, Cabaret has a book by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. Cabaret premiered on Broadway in 1966 and in 1972 was made into an Oscar-winning film starring Liza Minnelli as Sally Bowles, Michael York as Cliff and Joel Grey as the Emcee.

In the West End, actor and TV impressionist Alistair McGowan took over the role as the Emcee from Julian Clary in April (See News, 15 Apr 2008). The current cast also features Amy Nuttall as Sally Bowles, Steven Cree as Cliff Bradshaw, Angela Richards as Frau Schneider and Barry James as Herr Schultz. The production is designed by Katrina Lindsay with choreography by Javier De Frutos, who won a 2007 Olivier for his work on the musical. It’s produced by Bill Kenwright.

No further productions have yet been announced for the Lyric. A regional tour of Cabaret, starring dancer Wayne Sleep as the Emcee, will launch from Birmingham Rep on 28 August 2008 and will visit Bristol, Liverpool, Nottingham, Manchester, Woking, Cheltenham, Bath, Leeds, Truro and Malvern, where its 2008 schedule concludes on 13 December.

- by Terri Paddock”

Maybe she was audtioning for the touring version, but she really deserves a west end role in IMHO.

Rachel was the best the whole way through for me. The only reason Jodie was perceived as being consistent was because she sang almost nothing but ballads, and she was obviously comfortable singing those - everyone else took risks.

Every time Rachel fluffed a note, people labelled her performance as a disaster, which was very unfair. Jodie missed notes too, but she was still called consistent and reliable. Sam and Niamh found it difficult to sing in key at all sometimes, and most of the time nothing was ever said to them about it.

People immediately took against Rachel because she had professional training, which was also unfair. She was perceived as being cold because she was more honest about wanting the role - all of them desperately wanted the role, or they wouldn't have been there. Rachel said that she could see Jessie as Nancy a few weeks into the competition, which hardly indicates that she was arrogant and conceited. She cried after Jessie sang "Truly Scrumptious" and seemed happy for Jodie when she won.

I think that Jodie and Sarah had as much support as they did because they seem like nice people. That's fine, but neither of them were perfect and it's disingenuous to say that they were. Sarah had a good voice, but she just wasn't Nancy at all.

Rant over!
